When I got laid off from Microsoft, I got into a company in Lagos that felt paying 600k naira a month was doing me a favour. I had to take the offer to keep body and soul together. Was there for 6 months until I fell out with the MD and started looking out. That was when I started my training outfit but couldn't quite get traction. Anyway, after leaving this NGO, I spent another 5 months in the wilderness, literally. Ate rejections almost every other day. Was living on the goodwill of friends and relations. Basically wondering what to get out of life. An Antler rep came knocking at the time and was in the process of fast tracking my application to the Antler cohort at Kenya. Guess what? My passport had expired. Ran to go fast track my passport, after a few days emailed the partner but was told it was too late. I remember laying in my room laughing hysterically, mulling to myself, "who I offend?" Thankfully at that time, I applied to Andela and the process started for another 2 months. I got into Andela and my monthly salary was my previous annual salary. This trend continued in a subsequent company. Use am run one or two that year. But the point is, while I was enjoying this new reality, I asked myself, "why did you worry all those times?" In hindsight, there was no reason to. I should have just chilled for 5 months, enjoyed myself. But we are human and can only understand life in hindsight. As long as you believe this it will work out for you: EVERYTHING will turn out better than you expected, just stop worrying.
When it all works out, you'll be so pissed with yourself that you worried so much.

Maybe you are just poor @AU79executioner
Splashing over $600k on a cyber beast is as good as unwise if you ask me. God gave you a mandate @Kelvintalent_ and you choosed to buy a car ?? That money is enough to start a Gerri factory in Kogi state, you could have contributed 30% of the GDP in kogi and still live comfortably well. I think your close friends like @Techriztm and @Fznation01 needs to start advising you before you spend all your fortune on vanity. Respectfully speaking sir, this is not right. I’ll advice you to sell that car and relocate to kogi state before the garri business gets saturated Executioner⭕️🦅

1. The easiest thing to know in this life is when someone is genuinely interested in you. The second easiest thing is when someone isn’t. 2. All of a sudden, they become too busy for you. You start wondering, “Isn’t it the same job they were doing in the beginning of the talking stage or relationship?” Well, they no longer like you. 3. If you don’t call or text them first, they won’t reach out. It starts to feel like they are responding to you rather than conversing with you. If you don’t call or text your babe or talking stage for the next 48 hours and they don’t reach out, you already have your answer. 4. They begin to take offense at the most inconsequential things and jokes. This is because everything you do now irritates them, and most people cannot hide their irritation to save their lives. 5. Texts start getting shorter. Calls become shorter, with excuses like being tired. This is someone who used to stay on the phone with you for four hours or text you “wyd?” in the middle of the night. Let me break it to you: while the calls and texts with you are getting shorter, those with someone else are getting longer. The new person. 6. They start making flimsy excuses whenever you want to see them. They are now too occupied to spend quality time with you. So much for someone who used to ask, “Hey, are you at home?” just to come and see you when they still liked you. 7. If you pay close attention, they start making statements or dropping hints that you should date anyone who wants to take you seriously. They may not spell it out, but they subtly begin to tell you to keep your options open. 8. Unnecessary fights and arguments become the order of the day. Every little conversation turns into a fight, leading to days of not speaking to each other until you, the person who is still the only one invested in the relationship, eventually apologise for peace to reign. A terrible thing to do, by the way. 9. Your conversations with them begin to lack substance. After “How are you doing?”, “How was your day?” and “Have you eaten?”, there is nothing else to talk about. They are intentionally becoming boring to frustrate you. 10. They go out, take new pictures, and you begin to see those pictures on social media like the civilian you have now become. This is someone who used to spam you with new pictures and even ask you to select the ones they would post. 11. They become inconsiderate and unnecessarily needy. Inconsideration is one of the easiest ways to know that someone no longer cares about you. In fact, it can be a sign of resentment. 12. They begin to personalise everything. This is someone who used to say things like, “So, what are WE going to do now?”, “WE will get through this” and “WE should go out again soon.” Now, everything becomes “I”. This is because they no longer see you as part of their future. 13. A third party enters the picture. There is now a new guy or girl they talk to all the time, someone you are obviously uncomfortable with. When you express your displeasure, they tell you how insecure you are and insist that it is not that deep. It is that deep. That person is your replacement. 14. You begin to hear absurd statements like, “You know we don’t have to talk every day, right?” or “I want space.” 15. You find yourself begging for the bare minimum: love, care, sex, attention, reciprocity, etc. This is often a result of their lack of enthusiasm towards you. The signs are always there. Crystal clear. Human beings are not that deep. When someone likes you, you will know. When they no longer like you, you will also know. Hope just blurs the line. Leave with your dignity when you notice most of the aforementioned signs.
How do you even know when your partner or talking stage is no longer interested in you?

I dropped my CV somewhere then after 4 days they called me to write a test, when we were done they told us to bring our urine for alcohol testing, so I took my wife's urine because I'm always drinking. So when the results came back, they said I was pregnant.

During my NYSC, I served in an army barracks. What happened with a fellow corper there is something I will never forget. On a Thursday, he mentioned he’d be traveling that weekend. When Saturday morning came, I walked into his room just as he was fully dressed and ready to leave. I looked at him and said: "No matter what happens today, make sure you come back." He just smiled, said "no problem," and left. 10 hours later, I saw his WhatsApp status. His bus had been involved in a terrible accident. People lost their lives. I immediately started calling him. He didn’t pick up. He didn't return my calls either, even though I found out he was answering calls from other people. Two weeks later, he finally returned to the barracks. I went to welcome him, but the moment I stepped close, he stepped back. He told me not to touch him, that I was a very strange person. He explained that everybody in that bus was either severely injured or dead except him. He didn't have a single scratch. He asked me, "What exactly did you see before I left?" I told him I saw nothing. Then he told me that during the chaos of the accident, the only thing ringing in his head was my voice telling him: "No matter what happens, you must come back." I finally explained it to him. In my family, if we have a bad dream or foresee danger about someone, we don’t tell them about the bad dream. We just give them a "command message" to return safely. My dad did it for me once. Everyone around me got injured and robbed, but not a single thing happened to me. Sometimes, spiritual covering doesn't need a long prayer. Just a command.

People are intimidated by intelligent people, and even more intimidated by outspoken and articulate people.

I’ve watched this video several times, and what disturbs me most isn’t the moment the gate closes. It’s everything that happened before it. For five days, these animals returned to the same place, ate the same food, and walked away unharmed. Each visit made the next one easier. Nothing about the environment appeared to change, yet something important was happening. Their behavior was becoming predictable. What looked like an ordinary feeding routine was gradually becoming the foundation of a trap they had no reason to anticipate. What makes the situation particularly unsettling is the patience of the person behind it. He didn’t need to chase the animals or force them into the enclosure. He simply created the conditions under which they would enter willingly. The food was real, the rewards were immediate, and the consequences remained hidden. While the animals were responding to what was directly in front of them, someone else was thinking several steps ahead. The difference wasn’t physical strength or intelligence alone. It was the advantage of understanding the entire arrangement while the other side understood only its immediate benefits. And this is where the video becomes a disturbing reflection of human behavior. Not every dangerous arrangement announces itself through cruelty or deception. Some begin with opportunity, generosity, and an extraordinary degree of convenience. People become attached to what consistently rewards them, often without examining the conditions that make those rewards possible. They confuse being accommodated with being valued, being needed with being indispensable, and having access with having control. The danger isn’t necessarily that someone is lying to them. It’s that they may be making permanent decisions based on circumstances someone else can change overnight. But there’s an even more uncomfortable realization here. The animals didn’t lose their freedom because they wanted food. They lost it because the environment was designed to turn an ordinary need into an opportunity for capture. And that distinction matters. Having needs doesn’t make someone foolish, and accepting help doesn’t make someone weak. The real danger begins when another person understands your dependencies better than you understand their intentions. At that point, they may not need to control your decisions directly. They only need to control the circumstances under which those decisions are made. What stays with me is what happened after the gate closed. The food remained exactly where it had always been, but the animals’ attention shifted toward the boundaries of the enclosure. I can’t know what they understood, yet the contrast is striking. Nothing about the reward had changed. What changed was their ability to leave. And perhaps that’s something people rarely consider while life is going well. We spend so much time evaluating what an arrangement gives us that we forget to ask what it would cost to walk away from it. Sometimes the true price of a benefit becomes visible only when you try to refuse it. The lesson I take from this isn’t that generosity should be feared or that trust should be abandoned. It’s that independence requires more than favorable circumstances. It requires understanding who holds the power to change them. Five days were enough to establish a routine, but one moment exposed the limits of that routine. The food was still there. The benefits hadn’t disappeared. Only the freedom to leave had been taken away. And perhaps the most important question isn’t whether you’re comfortable with what someone offers you, but whether your life would still belong to you if they stopped offering it.

There is something insanely attractive about a woman who is not moved by money and material possessions. You approach her thinking your car, expensive gifts, and money will sweep her off her feet, only to discover that she is not impressed. Her attitude is simply, “Yes, I can see that you have money, so what?” What makes it even more admirable is that she does not have to be rich herself. She is simply content, principled, and knows what she wants. She wants a man who is intelligent, responsible, well behaved, and attractive to her. Your money is an addition, not the attraction. If she does not like you, no amount of money will buy her affection or earn you access to her. A woman who values character over material possessions, whose affection cannot be bought, and whose standards cannot be compromised with money is incredibly admirable. In a society where materialism is increasingly celebrated, a woman like that commands my respect.

I honestly have no reason to watch football anymore. 😭 Messi, Neymar, Hazard and Cristiano Ronaldo were the reason I fell in love with the game. I grew up watching these guys, and now they’re all gone. Football will never feel the same again. 💔

Find audacity. There is nothing that will help you more in this life than audacity. Find it. Let it push you to silence the noise, go back to school, leave the country, start a business, take risks, and fight for your life.

I used to think saying no made me a bad person. Now I understand that constantly saying yes to people can slowly destroy your own life. You can spend years solving everyone else’s problems, making sacrifices for people who would not do the same for you, and neglecting your own goals, peace and responsibilities. Sometimes saying no is not selfishness. It is self preservation. Again, I used to think age automatically came with wisdom. Now I understand that some people simply get older without ever becoming wiser. Do not accept everything an older person tells you as wisdom simply because they are old. Age gives you more years, not necessarily more sense. Fools grow old too.
What’s something you understand now that you completely misunderstood a few years ago?
