Um actually 🤓 *pushes glasses up* Yes in the comics Tommy’s powers are modeled after his uncles’. Yes speedsters can phase so you can still ARGUE the same thing here in the MCU in regard to Tommy’s power being that of his uncles’. BUT that isn’t what MARVEL TOLD US about TOMMY in the MCU. Remember MCU origins/universe is different from the main comic universe. There was only a cute lil nod to Tommy and Pietro as it relates to their powers in the WandaVision Halloween episode. A homage if you will. And that wasn’t even “Pietro” it was Agatha possessing a random man and giving him temporary abilities to gaslight Wanda. However, Marvel had been VERY adamant prior to that to also highlight Vision’s super speed ability. They also highlighted his super speed abilities in WandaVision, specifically when Wanda went into labor and he ran to get the Doctor. Wanda also quite literally says in the first episode when he talks about the Heart/Hart abbreviation, “You move at the speed of sound and I can make a pen float through the air, who needs to abbreviate” We have seen Pietro’s super speed in the MCU but we have NOT seen his ability to phase (he’s dead) and Makkari did not show any ability of phasing through solid objects in Eternals. We also did not see Pietro OR Makkari generate any sort of electrical currents/pulses with their abilities. In conclusion, Thomas’ superspeed abilities are from his FATHER in the MCU, not his uncle, including the phasing. Wanda is very armament in regard to this especially when speaking on the fact that they inherited “tough skin” from Vision as well when she spoke to them about life being meaningless.
