As millions tune in to the FIFA World Cup, awareness groups are highlighting an important issue that often goes unnoticed.
If you need support:
📞 Women's Aid: 1800 341 900
📞 Sonas: 1800 222 223
📞 Men's Aid Ireland: 01 554 3811
🚨 In an emergency, call 999 or 112.
With #LCPE exam this Friday, here’s a timely reminder that safe practice it’s a live issue in Hurling & Camogie.
Helmets must comply with IS:355 standards and remain unmodified to protect players from serious head, face and eye injuries. @officialgaa @OfficialCamogie #LCPE
The GAA and Camogie Assoc have reminded players that if a head injury occurs while wearing a helmet that doesn’t meet the required standard, or has been altered from its original manufactured state, Player Injury Fund cover may not apply. @officialgaa @OfficialCamogie #LCPE
For LCPE students, this is a perfect example of the link between:
✅ safe practice in sport
✅ rules and regulations
✅ injury prevention
Best of luck on Friday! @officialgaa @OfficialCamogie #LCPE #ExamPrep

Bridget Moran was undoubtedly the kindest, most genuine person I’ve come across in this job. A stalwart of Oulart-The Ballagh and Wexford Camogie, quietly irreplaceable in the glory days of the game in the county, did so much more than her title of ‘first aid’.
