Great day for Vicksburg. Great day for the State. Great day for the Country.
The Vicksburg Civil War Visitor Center will provide an immersive experience for hundreds of thousands of visitors from all over the country to come see first hand what happened at the Battle of Vicksburg.
A perfect example of state, federal, county, city and private investment coming together and coming to Mississippi.
Collecting on my bet with Missouri Lt Gov @davidwasinger
David, I appreciate the friendly wager, but I think you might want to check Missouri’s track record in our state before you get too confident.
We already had one tiger team come to the Vaught this season and they left with their tails tucked.
Challenge accepted. Around here, we believe in Mississippi-made products, Mississippi football, and giving our visitors a little Southern hospitality even when they’re going to lose.
Hotty Toddy and game on!
The stakes are high for Saturday’s Mizzou–Ole Miss showdown!
I’ve got a friendly wager with Mississippi Lieutenant Governor Delbert Hosemann: When the Tigers beat the Rebels, he owes me a basket of Mississippi-made products. And if Ole Miss somehow pulls off the upset, I’ll send him a basket filled with some of the best products from our Buy Missouri businesses!
A little friendly competition between two great states, but I’m confident this one is going Missouri’s way! @DelbertHosemann
M-I-Z! Z-O-U!
Cyber threats are evolving, and Mississippi has to be prepared.
Today, the Senate Select Committee on Cybersecurity is hearing from experts and examining how we can strengthen our state's cybersecurity and better protect Mississippians.
With multiple recent cyber breaches and millions of dollars being stolen through Mississippians financial information being hacked, the time is now to sound the alarm and act.
Thankful for our Senators long, hard work today!
Mississippi has spent generations building the ships that keep America strong and our Navy ready.
Happy 251st Birthday to the @USNavy! Grateful for the men and women who serve and defend our nation.
A big week ahead in the Mississippi Senate.
On Tuesday, the Senate Select Committee on Cybersecurity will examine how we can better protect Mississippi's government systems and the people who rely on them.
On Wednesday, the Senate Government Structure Committee will look at ways to make state government more efficient and effective.
Two important conversations as we prepare for the 2027 Legislative Session.
❗️Hurricane Isaias Update❗️
Hurricane Isaias has strengthened to a major hurricane with maximum sustained winds of 120 mph with higher gusts.
While Mississippi is not expecting a direct landfall from Isaias, Mississippi will still see impacts from the storm. A hurricane warning and tropical storm warnings are in effect for several counties in southeast MS.
There is a risk for heavy rainfall, gusty winds, and storm surge along the coast.
Continue to monitor the forecast and remain vigilant.
Stay safe, Mississippi!
Thank you, @POTUS!

Mississippi children in state custody facing complex behavioral health challenges now have a place that can give them hope through the CARES Center at Canopy.
Investments in our most vulnerable children cannot be fully comprehended. This center will give these children a safe place to heal, thrive and begin a path toward a better future.
No other state in the Southeast has a place quite like this. Mississippi should be incredibly proud of what we have built for God’s children and their families.
Congrats to @msstate on a huge honor!
Mississippi has a long history of strong military support, and this comes as no surprise. Hail State!
Mississippi State University is one of five universities designated as a new “Distinguished Military College” by order of Secretary of War Pete Hegseth.
The announcement came during Secretary Hegseth’s speech today, Sept. 30, to active-duty tactical-level and noncommissioned officers at Marine Corps Base Quantico in Virginia. Hegseth said the new designation expands America’s Corps of Cadets, a War Department program established to expand the pipeline of “patriotic leaders of character” commissioned into the Joint Force.

In Bill’s time at MDA, he has played a major role in attracting more private investment than we have seen in our state’s history.
The results of his success have been recognized but will only be fully realized over future decades of employment opportunities for Mississippi’s workforce.
We cannot thank him enough for his service to our state. He has truly helped put Mississippi on a path for continued economic success.
BREAKING: Bill Cork is retiring from state service after six years with the Mississippi Development Authority. Cork helped the state attract about $85 billion in new private-sector investment.
Investing in our School Attendance Officers this last session was a major step for our education system and our future workforce. We need our kids in school.
Our chronic absenteeism rate is still way too high and is an epidemic. This year's report shows a 26.5% rate. The Legislature made significant positive changes with adding more School Attendance Officers and new Youth Court judges. We are anxious to see how investments this year make an impact in future years.
Congratulations to all of our schools that saw progress. It does not go unnoticed!

The Capitol Police have been game-changing for the City of Jackson since we in the Legislature revamped them in 2022. Because of their success and working alongside JPD, Jackson’s crime rates have substantially improved over the last few years.
Our officers are in strenuous conditions every night and day making split-second decisions. We should thank them daily.
Mississippi is a model state for tough-on-crime legislation. We have and will continue supporting all that they do and are doing.
Our team beat their team.
Our Coach beat their Coach.
Our state beat their state.
Our fans were passionate, vocal, and responsible. Theirs were silenced.
Congratulations to @OleMissFB!
Happy Birthday to the United States Air Force!
From Keesler on the Gulf Coast to Columbus Air Force Base, Mississippi has a proud connection to the Air Force and the men and women who serve our country. We are grateful for their service and sacrifice, here at home and around the world.
It was an honor to visit with the National Guard’s emerging leaders this afternoon discussing the responsibility that comes with leadership and the impact good leaders can have on those around them.
We should all be beyond grateful for these men and women and for the sacrifices they and their families make to serve our state and our country.
As I woke this morning, I remembered the nearly 3,000 lives who never saw September 12, and the hundreds of first responders and survivors who continue to battle cancer because they answered the call to help their fellow citizens.
We are proud to be an American.
Twenty-five years ago, our world stopped turning as we watched an unbelievable tragedy unfold in New York.
2,977 lives that will never be forgotten. The resilience of the American people shown in the days following 9/11 demonstrated the unbreakable spirit of our nation and our support for our brethren in times of heartache. It changed our country forever.
We will never forget.
