Delrish Moss

🚔🔥 Leadership. Service. Community. Police Chief Delrish Moss kicked off Public Safety Night at Miramar’s Go Local Academy with a warm welcome and powerful remarks about service, community and the commitment behind keeping Miramar safe. Joined by Fire Chief Jermaine McFarlane, our officers and staff gave residents an up-close look at public safety in action, including some of the specialized vehicles and fleet that help us serve our community every day. The engagement, questions and appreciation from our residents made the night even more meaningful. 💙 A great night showcasing the people, professionalism and public safety partnerships that represent the very best of Miramar! #MiramarPD #ChiefDelrishMoss #GoLocalMiramar #PublicSafety #miramarproud

After six weeks of Saturday sessions, the Role Models of Today, Creating Leaders of Tomorrow program has officially come to an end! Spearheaded by Chief Delrish Moss and Senior Park & Recreation Manager Reginal Taylor, the program brought students together to complete projects, build life skills, and learn from elected officials, department directors, and other inspiring role models. Professionals shared their life experience and shortcuts to becoming a leader. To celebrate their dedication and commitment, each student received a surprise monetary gift that was collected by Miramar Police Officers and presented by Chief Moss. Congratulations to all of our students! 👏🎓✨ #MiramarPD #ServingOurCommunity

I’m deeply saddened to hear that Peabo Bryson has died today. It feels like a major part of my musical life is fading with time. Sam Cooke, Donny Hathaway, Marvin Gaye, Peabo Bryson, Jeffrey Osborn, and my all-time favorite Luther Vandross have all been major parts of the soundtrack of my life. May their legacy live on in every note and memory.

Congratulations to Chief Delrish Moss on his induction into the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Broward County Hall of Fame this weekend! Chief Moss’ connection to Big Brothers Big Sisters is personal. He was once a child participating in the mentorship program. Recognizing the impact of mentorship, Chief Moss brought the program to the Miramar Police Department, creating opportunities for our officers and staff to serve as mentors for local youth. In the words of Chief Moss, “It’s a great way to plant seeds that grow good harvest in terms of kids being able to see their future in mentors.”

Miramar Police Department earns top honors again. On Thursday, February 19, 2026, Chief D. Moss, Deputy Chief S. Bucknor-Ingram, and Accreditation Manager S. Lerouge accepted CFA’s Excelsior Status—the highest level of Florida law enforcement accreditation, in St. Augustine, Florida. This milestone follows CALEA reaffirmation in September 2025, marking MPD’s rare achievement of dual accreditation at both the state and national levels. Dual accreditation reflects unwavering commitment to accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement in service to the Miramar community. #MiramarPD #CFA #CALEA #PublicSafety #CommunityFirst

I had the great pleasure of sitting down with one of my favorite teachers Marty Hancock. She was truly an impactful inspirational figure for me and many others back at Miami Senior High School and she is still a beautiful and delightful friend today.
