Thank you to all stakeholders and partners for joining us to celebrate USAID Nepal’s Health and Hygiene Activity’s achievements at our close out event last week!

And with a full day of collaboration coming to a close, that’s a wrap on our #Nexus learning event! Huge thanks to all attendees for sharing valuable insights and making it a day of collaborative learning. Stay tuned for additional learning materials and info coming soon!

After a quick break, our marketplace is set up for attendees to share and discuss the rich information shared this morning, as well as connect and network with other experts and actors in the #Nexus space: @tassaght, @Donilab1, @TetraTechIntDev, @urcintl, @CatholicRelief

Our #nexus panel is starting now!

DeAnn's Keynote Continues: "For DevWorks, Doing What Works Locally is the key to the #nexus, and to understanding the linkages across #humanitarian, development, & #peacebuilding work. We believe that successful nexus programming must incorporate 5 key elements"

"This approach took the form of multiple activities to increase local food production to benefit vulnerable Malians, while also creating commercial linkages and opportunities for producer groups – one of the objectives of the Sene Yiriwa activity"

"To mitigate likely spikes in maternal and child malnutrition during the lean season, DevWorks, working through FTF Sene Yiriwa, partnered with @USAIDMali’s Keneya Nieta activity, implemented by @urcintl, to respond to an urgent humanitarian need"

Next up is DeAnn McGrew, DevWorks’ CEO, for the keynote speech!

"More flexible program structures and budgets; shifting and sharing leadership roles among public, private, local, national, and international partners as crises evolve; and designing and managing actions simultaneously attuned to both short- and long-term needs"

"International assistance orgs & their local partners must be prepared to respond in new and different ways to the multiple, multisectoral crises that are currently affecting so many countries, including Mali. What might “new and different” mean in this context of assistance?"
