Over the last 2 years, Elias Law Group has litigated and won scores of voting and election cases. Tonight, we saw the results -- Democrats won free and fair elections. In the days ahead we will protect these results from DOJ and GOP attack. When we fight, we win.🗳️⚖️💪

Gina Hinojosa walks out on stage and begins by addressing her two young children: HINOJOSA: In the past year. You have been so supportive. You have been so supportive and gracious, and I am so proud of you. Even though neither you or Matteo ever asked for this, my fight comes from my deep love for the both of you and my desire to make this world safer and better for the both of you. You have been so understanding and encouraging, and I thank you both so much

There's a saying on American social media: "Be the American that Japanese people think you are." I'm Japanese. I've lived in Tokyo my whole life. So let me tell you what we actually say about you, when you're not in the room. "When someone falls down on the street, we pretend not to see. We're protecting their pride. Americans run straight at them. They don't care about the pride. They care about the knee." (Office worker, 38) "An American will stop four lanes of traffic for a family of ducks. And then everyone in the cars claps for the ducks." (Taxi driver, 61) "If you lend an American a pen, you will never see it again. If you need a kidney, they'll ask your blood type." (Nurse, 45) "At kids' soccer games, they cheer when the other team's kid scores. The other team's parents look confused. Then they cheer too." (Youth soccer coach, 52, lived one year in Ohio) "A man sneezed on a bus in Chicago. Eleven strangers said 'Bless you.' He said 'thank you' eleven times. Nobody on that bus thought this was strange." (University student, 21) "At an airport in Texas, I watched a soldier try to pay for his lunch. The cashier said someone already had. He asked who. She said, 'Somebody who didn't want you to know.'" (Retired teacher, 70) "American fathers cannot braid hair. But they will watch a video at midnight for an hour so their daughter's hair looks right on picture day." (Hair stylist, 33) "I ran the Chicago Marathon once. Strangers stood in the cold for hours holding signs for people they will never meet. At mile 20, a man I'd never seen read the name off my bib and screamed it like he'd raised me." (Runner, 48) "When Americans get lost, they ask a stranger. If the stranger is also lost, they become a team." (Tour guide, 39) "They ask the waitress her name. And then they remember it." (Restaurant owner, 66) And one more. From my father. He's 76. He doesn't say much about anything. This is the longest thing I have ever heard him say about another country. "Every time something terrible happens in America, I watch the news, and I look for one thing. The people running toward it. There are always so many." So, America. You don't have to become the Americans we think you are. We're not imagining you. We're remembering you.

Tonight, I make a solemn promise to every single Texan. Whether you voted for me or Governor Abbott, or felt so betrayed by a broken politics that you did not vote at all. Hear what Texas said today, loud and clear: Your government belongs to you. And as your governor, I will never forget it. There will be no special set of rules for the wealthy and powerful. No looking the other way when someone in my own party does wrong. The trust you have placed in me tonight is not a blank check. It is a sacred responsibility. And I intend to earn it every single day.

TALARICO: “We just proved that all the money in the world is no match for the people of Texas. We just showed that a politics of division is no match for a politics of love. And we just sent a message to every billionaire megadonor, every trillionaire, megadonor. Every corrupt defender of this broken political system in this state, in this country, power belongs to the people.”

Tonight, the American people sent a clear message — they want a politics that brings people together rather than divides them, and leaders who offer concrete solutions to the challenges they face. These results were only possible because outstanding candidates stepped forward in every region of the country — including in areas once considered long shots. They came from different backgrounds and represented a range of political perspectives, but were united by shared values, a belief in public service, and a commitment to putting the people of their districts and states first. We also owe a debt of gratitude to the thousands of election officials and volunteers from both parties who helped ensure a smooth election and carried out one of the most essential functions of our democracy. While this administration has another two years in office, our job now is to roll up our sleeves, make changes wherever we have the power to do so, prevent further damage, and lay the groundwork for the future.

Yesterday, a JetBlue Airbus A320 operating flight B61971 from Fort Lauderdale to Austin refused the heading they were given and declared an emergency. When ATC issued a heading that appeared to take the aircraft toward a severe thunderstorm, the crew pushed back: “So you're gonna make us go through a, uh, severe thunderstorm?” The captain then made the call: “So we declare an emergency, making a left turn heading 260 for severe weather avoidance.” A good call from the cockpit crew keeping everyone on board safe.

Thank you, Florida. We didn’t get the result we fought for tonight. I’m not going to pretend that it doesn’t hurt. But I want y’all to hear me. What we built together is REAL. Every door you knocked, every call you made, every dollar you gave and every friend you brought to the polls proved that working people in this state are ready for something better. That movement isn’t going anywhere, and neither am I. The fight continues. Love, Angie 💗 #AngieForFlorida

Why on earth did the Trump Administration pay $495.6 MILLION for a vacant prison in Minnesota when the company selling it had offered to sell the SAME prison to the state for just $75 million the year before?   Are you telling me that American taxpayers may have overpaid by $420 MILLION? Because, to me, it sure looks like the Trump Administration paid more than SIX TIMES the previous asking price.   And by the way, the company that sold the prison, CoreCivic, donated $500,000 to Trump’s inauguration.   I’ll let you draw your own conclusions here, but anyone with eyes can see that this is an absurd waste of taxpayer dollars and that something shady is going on here.
"New records obtained by KARE 11 show the company that owned a vacant private prison in Appleton, Minnesota offered to sell it to the state in 2025 for $75 million. One year later, the Trump administration agreed to use taxpayer funds to buy the same abandoned prison from CoreCivic, Inc., for $495.6 million. The price difference, $420 million, is more than taxpayers are estimated to have lost in Minnesota’s much-publicized Feeding Our Future fraud scandal." kare11.com/article/news/inve…
