The recompile rush using AI is going to change gaming forever. I expect a lot more legal action from the corporations, and simple mods will get caught in the crossfire. In a couple years I bet every game must be streamed on demand in order to play.

R1p’s post just made me think about it, because I have to keep notifications on for the account, otherwise the posts just won’t show up. Hope somebody from X or that runs the official MK page can fix it (if it’s a setting turned on by the user).

Random, but @noobde - No judgement for whatever the answer is: Do you know what your “max leaderboard rank” is, on the ranked leaderboard for any of the modern Mortal Kombat or Injustice games? Curious if you had a game in particular that you excelled at the most.

This sole tweet, is making me slightly lean back towards “it is Injustice 3”. With Ed tweeting about “tag, you’re it” with the Onaga clip a couple weeks ago. Still holding onto hope for MK vs DC. If the game drops in October 2027 it would be the 35 year MK anniversary.

MK1 was a love letter to 3D Mortal Kombat. What came after 3D Mortal Kombat… - DC+MK are juggernaut IP’s - Success of “dark” super hero properties like Invincible/The Boys with M rated type material - Maybe an “Injustice 3” internal name to avoid spoiling the big MK reveal

MK vs Injustice/DC 2, just seems more and more likely every day. But betting odds would have an Injustice 3 release as the most probable. I just feel like in modern day gaming, a title like “Mortal Kombat vs DC” would be something a publisher like WB wants.

My reasoning: Super hero shows have gotten “dark” over the last decade. Which was a trend kicked off by DC itself 2 decades ago with the dark knight. They could finally do an MK vs DC game where finishers would be fully allowed in both cast sets, and the game could be M rated.

MK1 still feels like the characters move in a “sluggish” manner compared to previous MK’s, but wow at the beginning they were generally underwater in terms of their recovery frames, the dramatic gaps, etc. I’d take less realistic weight, for faster gameplay in the next NRS game.

There's actual, MK9 like tag mode in MK1 that's currently unused/not finished! At the moment, no evidence of this being added in future but its very likely.

The problem discussing Mortal Kombat 1, is judging by player counts, 90% of players didn’t play Khaos Reigns onwards. So they don’t know how the mechanics changed. Can’t talk about the positives, cause people think “special into Kameo on block & repeat” was the only way to play.

I have a lot of negative things to say about MK1. Mainly that it released unfinished, and lacked content and features at a large scale. But in gameplay, there were some mechanics changes that I really appreciated and I hope are carried into the next title.

I also think like November 2024 onwards, we finally got enough post-launch new moves added to so many characters/kameos, that there was finally creativity on the level of MKX that you could play with. I’m sad that most setups/combos/strategies just weren’t possible year 1.
