Erm… I’ve been getting nervous watching this spot on my #iPhoneDuo. I only noticed it this morning. I see the hinge pressing on this spot from underneath as I start to fold it.
And NO, I never press on the screen when folding. I hold from the frame only.
Anyone else?

Why would I post long-form content on @Instagram when @YouTube actually pays me to post the same content? 🤷♂️

Ouch, how long have you been in tech?
The IP rating is for the body of the phone only, not the hinge...
Second, the dust used to get an IP rating is like fine talc, not sand. NOTHING in his test is relatable to real world use. Should be marked "for entertainment purposes only"
Apple's $1,999 iPhone Duo failed JerryRigEverything's durability test. Dust got into the hinge despite the IP68 rating and the magnets could no longer hold it shut. The bend test left permanent green lines, then the inner screen died. That screen costs about $999 to replace without AppleCare+. Rough test, but pocket dust is not an edge case. The coverage is part of the price on this one.

Sorry guys. I hate to inform you that the iPhone Duo didn’t survive the garbage disposal test. RIP iPhone Duo. Terrible durability from Apple.

iPhone duo is genuinely much better than I thought it would be. Sure, a few apps still need to be updated from third-party developers that I use, but just using it for the day has been a pleasure.

Sensationalized durability tests continue to be among the most misleading representations of how modern consumer hardware performs under real-world conditions. 🤦🏼♂️

I've had my Duo less than 24 hours. I didn't take it out of the house, barely used the inner display. Found a 1mm what appears to be a scratch on the nano coating. Tried the Apple polishing cloth and it's slightly bigger. Yeah this ain't it chief. Going back.
