🚨🔵 Caicedo and Kanté are two different midfielders. Kanté was practically a three-in-one midfielder. He could cover the entire pitch, win the ball, carry it forward and recover defensively. Caicedo is similar in some ways, but he doesn't have that same ability to pick up the ball and drive through midfield. For me, Caicedo brings balance to the midfield, just like Rodri does. He protects the defence and gives another midfielder the freedom to dictate play. That's why Alex Scott makes sense to me. He's mobile, covers a lot of ground and could complement Caicedo well. However, my ideal pairing would be Caicedo and Barco. Barco has the press resistance and composure on the ball that remind me of Pedri, alongside the passing ability you see in Adam Wharton. My only concern is his physicality. The Premier League is demanding, and I worry that stronger midfielders could overpower him.
