Cricket view: NO Mohammed Shami in Indian test squad to New Zealand?? You pick Anshul Kambhoj and Akashdeep above him?? If batters are never too old to be picked, why not a bowler who is a proven match winner, has been taking a bagful of wickets in Ranji Trophy, was part of a deadly trio with Bumrah and Siraj, a bowler made for Kiwi conditions. @BCCI , the selectors need to give us fans some answers! 🙏

A FINAL FIGHTER SORTIE. A LIFETIME OF PASSION. At the controls of the indigenous Tejas, the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, takes to the skies for his last fighter sortie — a defining moment in a distinguished career shaped by an abiding passion for flying and an unwavering commitment to serving the Nation. Flying alongside Friendly Foreign Country aircraft and the Suryakiran Aerobatic Team during Exercise #TarangShakti26, the sortie reflects the spirit of a fighter pilot who has always believed in leading from the front. As one chapter draws to a close, the passion remains undiminished. The skies may mark the end of a flying chapter, but the mission of service to the Nation continues. Once a fighter pilot. Always a fighter pilot. #IndianAirForce #PowerInPartnership #Tejas #TarangShakti26 @ausairforce @armeedelair @usairforce @team_luftwaffe @modgovae @defenceminindia @HQ_IDS_India @careeriniaf @air_veterans

Mr. Musk, yes, no billionaire should dictate a nation’s policy - Indian or American. India must welcome competition in satellite internet, from Indian and global providers, whoever offers the most practical and affordable last-mile solution for those in remote regions. In countries with lower per-capita incomes, satellite internet must be affordable too. High subscription fees and equipment costs risk putting it beyond the reach of ordinary households. Connectivity must bridge the digital divide, not create a new one. India knows our networks and spectrum are strategic infrastructure, not merely commercial assets. India’s national security safeguards are non-negotiable. Every country makes choices based on its own interests. Those in the West cannot preach free markets while practicing protectionism at home. USA imposed 100% tariffs on Chinese EVs to protect its domestic industry, just as India takes measures to protect its own domestic manufacturers. Both India and the US have restricted Huawei over security concerns. One cannot demand a level playing field from others only when it suits its own agenda. Indians will internally debate, question and address our strengths and shortcomings as a democratic country. Take BharatNet, India’s programme to bring broadband to village-level local bodies. We will question why, as the CAG’s 2026 audit report found, the programme is struggling to meet its original objectives. Why were only 33.2% of service-ready Gram Panchayats operational, despite ₹39,888 crore being spent? At the same time, we know to appreciate our telecom sector and regulations, which has made internet data among the world’s most affordable, bringing millions online. India is a democracy, not a colony. We welcome the world, but we, the Indian people, will decide our own future - not Western vested interests, their double standards or any billionaire - Indian or American.
Starlink is licensed in over 165 countries and has spent five years complying with every single law and requirement of the government of India, so why still no license? Is Ambani the real boss of India?

While @elonmusk is a phenomenal innovator and entrepreneur this tweet is in extremely poor taste. To suggest that India is controlled by one industrialist is both absurd and deeply disrespectful. India is a lively, vibrant democracy with a transparent economy and strong institutions. The United States has consistently protected its own economic and national security interests. Electric vehicles face 100% tariffs, effectively keeping companies like BYD out of the US passenger car market. There are stringent restrictions on telecom equipments on national security grounds. The FCC is now proposing to bar testing laboratories in several countries from certifying electronic devices for the US market. If the United States can legitimately protect its national security, why should India be denied the same sovereign right? India welcomes innovation, investment and fair competition. But no global corporation, however influential, can expect India to compromise its national interests or dictate its policies. What is considered national security in America cannot suddenly become protectionism in India. @PMOIndia @narendramodi @JM_Scindia
Dear Prime Minister Ambani, Please accept my humble apologies for not realizing that you are the real boss of India. Naturally, you would prefer to maintain your monopolistic exploitation of the great people of India, but would you nonetheless consider allowing Starlink to compete? There are many areas of India, as there are in all countries, with no Internet access, which denies children the opportunity for education and for small businesses the opportunity to sell their goods to a global market. Starlink would change their lives for the better. Thank you 🙏

It's not surprising to see our colonial sepoy @rahulgandhi supporting @elonmusk in undermining our business ventures. After all, in ensuring the integrity of our country be it economic or territorial, the Nehru-Gandhi family has been acting against India for over 4 generations. From giving away PoK and Akshai Chin to distributing 2g spectrum license at decade old rates, the stories of anti-Indian activities of Nehru-Gandhi family are of course many
Thank you, Rahul. This is indeed troubling.

⚠️ IF THAT FLYDUBAI PLANE HAD CRASHED… 1️⃣ The Indian pilot would have been blamed instantly. 2️⃣ Racists would have flooded social media with “Indian pilots” narratives before investigators even reached the wreckage. 3️⃣ Pakistani troll accounts would have amplified it, turning a tragedy into another India-bashing opportunity. 4️⃣ AI171 and the Phuket incidents would have been dragged in as evidence of a “pattern of behaviour” of Indian pilots. 5️⃣ Every unrelated Indian aviation incident would suddenly have become part of a narrative about supposedly “unsafe Indian pilots”. 6️⃣ Meanwhile, Oman’s lack of any meaningful history of aviation terrorism would have been used to bolster the India pilot angle. 7️⃣ If Indian pilot Capt Smit hadn’t survived & fought back to save the plane, the world would have got an entirely different story.

My salute to the Indian pilot Captain Smit Machchhar for his extraordinary bravery. Despite being stabbed and seriously injured, he fought back, resisted, opened the cockpit door, and enabled passengers and crew to overpower the attacker — preventing a catastrophic mid-air disaster. He saved the lives of 174 people, including Israeli citizens and other nationals. I wish Captain Machchhar a speedy and full recovery. He is a true hero.

#WATCH | Delhi | Professor in the Department of Anatomy at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, Dr. (Prof.) Rima Dada says, "Whether it is PCOS, obesity, diabetes, depression, or any other lifestyle disease, there are only three or four primary causes. One is a sedentary lifestyle, sitting in front of the TV or screens all day, not playing, not going for walks, and staying confined indoors. Secondly, we observe that our diets today are very rich in carbohydrates. We are consuming highly processed foods, which we classify as a highly inflammatory diet. We constantly order food at home via food delivery apps; there is no need to even step outside. Consequently, we see a decline in the intake of whole, plant-based foods and home-cooked meals. Instead, people opt for outside food, instant noodles that cook in two minutes, momos, and so on. These contain refined flour, meaning people are consuming excessive amounts of processed flour. It is a carbohydrate-rich diet. This, coupled with other factors like poor sleep, hygiene issues, smoking, and alcohol consumption, has led to a rise in lifestyle diseases. However, there are two crucial causes of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome: a sedentary lifestyle and an unhealthy diet. A diet high in carbohydrates and inflammatory foods is the primary cause" (22.09)

There is a disease on the roads of Delhi-NCR. Blacked-out SUVs with tinted windows and caste names prominently displayed. Oversized tyres with shiny chrome rims. Political party flags fluttering on the bonnet. If you live and drive in delhi, you have obviously seen this. The vehicle is usually a Maruti Brezza or a black Scorpio, invariably with the driver’s headrest removed. No seatbelts. They drive rashly, with a sense of complete impunity, while our cops look the other way and allow this nonsense to continue unchecked. The traffic situation in Delhi-NCR gets worse by the day. Enforcement is totally invisible. And then we wonder why people continue to die on our roads.

The most expensive part of a hospital bill may never touch the hospital at all. A patient admitted for care has no way of knowing whether the price on a medical consumable reflects its actual cost or a markup fixed long before it ever reached the ward. That gap in information is, at its core, a public health issue. A survey of hospital consumables in Maharashtra found an IV infusion set with a trade price of ₹11.05 carrying a printed MRP of ₹325 ; a markup of 2,841%. A syringe procured at ₹6.75 carried an MRP of ₹57.20. A catheter procured at ₹29.41 carried an MRP of ₹310. These are not elective purchases. Patients cannot compare prices, seek alternatives, or question a number printed on a box while receiving care and the MRP itself is often fixed upstream by manufacturers and distributors, disconnected from the trade price by a wide, unexplained margin. The result is a system where the party bearing the cost has the least information to evaluate it. The regulatory gap is structural: scheduled medicines are capped under the Drugs (Prices Control) Order, 2013. Most medical devices and consumables are not leaving both the pricing and the information around it almost entirely unmonitored. A review of these findings and clear guidelines on the permissible gap between trade procurement price and declared MRP have been recommended to the Department of Pharmaceuticals and the NPPA ; a step toward closing not just a pricing gap, but the information gap patients are left to bear alone. #PublicHealth #GoodGovernance #Leadership #TukaramMundhe moneycontrol.com/news/busine…
