Thank you Parimal for sharing this brilliant paper by Subhash Kak ji. Many secrets in the vast Indic body of knowledge are yet to be unravelled. Grateful to Subhash ji for his commitment to bringing forth our treasures for the benefit of humanity! ๐Ÿชท๐Ÿ™ @Fintech03 @subhash_kak
Everyone knows the Rigveda is the oldest book of India. Almost nobody knows what a computer scientist from Srinagar found hiding inside its table of contents. This is that story.... @subhash_kak Ji is a prof. of computer science at Oklahoma State. 1 of the 2 known methods of quantum cryptography comes from him. But his most unusual work is a discovery he calls the astronomical code of the Rigveda. Start with the fire altar, described in the Shatapatha Brahmana down to the last stone. It is enclosed by 360 stones: 21 for the earth, 78 for the atmosphere, 261 for the sky. It holds 10,800 ordinary bricks, which is exactly the number of muhurtas in a year of 360 days. And the same text says the Rigveda has 432,000 syllables. 432,000 is 40 x 10,800. The book is being described as an altar built out of verses. Now look at 261, the sky number. The sun appears about half a degree wide in our sky. Count its own diameters from horizon to horizon and you get ~339. Subhash Ji calls these sun-steps. Take the mean of 339 and 183, the half-year, and you land exactly on 261. The altar's sky number. Then Subhash Ji did something nobody had tried. He arranged the 10 books of the Rigveda in layers, like an altar. The Rigveda has 1,028 hymns / 1,017 without the 11 Valakhilya hymns that the tradition itself treats as a later supplement. Arrange the books as an altar and this is what falls out: - Books 4, 6, 8 and 9, the spine, hold exactly 339 hymns. The sun-step number. - Books 1 and 10 hold 382, which is 339 + 43. - Books 2, 3, 5 and 7 hold 296, which is 339 - 43. - And 43 is the hymn count of Book 2 itself. - Books 5 and 7 add to 191, which is the count of both Book 1 and Book 10. - The full count is 1,017, which is 339 x 3. - He counts 216 hymn groups. 216 is 2 x 108. The Jaiminiya Grhyasutra says plainly: Mercury is Vishnu. Vishnu's most famous feat in the Rigveda is measuring the universe in 3 strides. Subhash Ji's reading: divide the sky's 261 days by the 3 strides and you get 87 days. Mercury's actual year is 88 days. And 3 of Mercury's cycles through the sky, 118 days each in the code, give 354 days, the lunar year. The hymn says 2 of Vishnu's steps are visible to men, but the 3rd is beyond the flight of birds. Mercury is the hardest planet to spot precisely because it never strays far from the sun's glare. The code does not stop there. The Vedanga Jyotisha, the astronomy manual of the same world, counts the moon rising 1,768x in a yuga of 1,830 days. Divide and you get the moon rising every 24 hours and 50.5 minutes. I do not know if all of this was design. But when the spine of the altar of books adds up to the number of steps the sun takes across the sky, I find it hard to call it an accident. Anyone with a calculator can check every number here in one evening. That, to me, is the most stunning part. Source: Subhash Kak, The Astronomical Code of the Rgveda (3rd edition); S. Kak, Quarterly Journal of the Royal Astronomical Society, 1995 and 1996. Photo 1: The 10,800 brick count = a year's muhurtas (p.75). Photo 2: Shatapatha Brahmana 10.4.2.23-24, the Rigveda as 432,000 syllables (p.89). Photo 3: The 1,017 hymn total and Subhash Ji's 339x3 reading - note he frames it as "we choose to view", i.e. his interpretation, not a count stated in the text (p.99). Also has his own Books 4-8 graph figure. Photo 4: The Mercury-Vishnu identification - 3 revolutions in 261 sky days, so 87 days (p.110).

Commendable ! Grateful to the @indiannavy for their spectacular rescue mission! Modern-day piracy, ๐Ÿดโ€โ˜ ๏ธ like piracy in medieval times, is a burden on global maritime trade. @rajnathsingh @IndiaCoastGuard
My congratulations to #Indian Navy for successfully executing a meticulously coordinated 48-hour operation to rescue all 20 crew members of the pirated fishing vessel, Azini, more than 3000 km from Mumbai in the Arabian Sea, on 02 Nov 26. The swift localisation, interception and safe release of the crew and vessel from significantly-armed pirates, with timely support from the Indian Air Force, speak well of the Indian Navyโ€™s high operational readiness and ability to respond decisively to maritime threats across the region. Our brave personnel have once again demonstrated Indiaโ€™s ability, intent and resolve to safeguard lives, uphold maritime security and ensure stability across the Indian Ocean Region. India continues to stand resolute in ensuring SAFE SEAS and a free, open and secure Indian Ocean Region. #IndianNavy #IndianAirForce #SafeSeas

India's maternal mortality fell 78%. The world's fell 40%. I plotted the UN estimates because this change deserves to be seen alongside the poverty numbers. In 2000, India recorded an estimated 362 maternal deaths per 100,000 live births. The global estimate was 328. India was worse than the world overall. By 2023: - India: 80 - World: 197 India's maternal mortality ratio was now about 59% below the global estimate. Child survival shows another crossover. In 2000, India's under five mortality was 91.8 deaths per 1,000 live births, against 76.7 globally. By 2024: - India: 26.6 - World: 37.4 That is a 71% fall in India, against 51% globally. India went from above the global estimate to about 29% below it. On these series, India's maternal mortality estimate 1st fell below the global estimate in 2005; under five mortality followed in 2016. The graph also keeps the pandemic setback visible rather than drawing an uninterrupted success story. GDP matters, so do these outcomes. A discussion of Bharat's progress that leaves out mothers surviving pregnancy and children reaching their fifth birthday leaves out a great deal. Bharat is rising. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™ P.S. These are UN modelled estimates, accessed through the World Bank. They carry uncertainty intervals; the crossover years refer to the central estimates. The comparison is with the world overall, not Western countries, and it spans multiple governments. I would urge the @IPAOfficialPage to please ACT ON THE POSSIBILITY of our adversaries trying to sabotage our inbound supply-chains (especially API sourced from you-know-where) as well as our exports. Aravind Jiโ€™s forewarning ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿปalso needs your attention, @PiyushGoyal @aravind
This news means we can expect another hit job on Indian pharma, by causing issues outside India either via sabotage or by using their API companies. And their agents in India will shout to make it look like all Indian pharma is bad. Reuters, FT, BBerg will amplify the narrative.

The WHOLE ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ NATION is delighted and grateful! Thank you @isro and @ISROSpaceflight ! @iam_balaji @aravind @MumbaichaDon
Everyone's sharing that India just got its own GPS. The real story is better. We've had NavIC for years. On Friday night, ISRO started bringing it back to full strength. NavIC needs at least 4 working satellites to work on its own. A few older ones had lost their atomic clocks, and NVS 02 couldn't reach its slot last year, so the system had slipped below that minimum. GSLV F18 just put NVS 03 up, which puts us on track to get back to 4. This matters more than it sounds. GPS belongs to the US military, and during Kargil India was denied GPS data when it needed it most. Today our maps, shipping, fishermen's alerts, power grids, bank timestamps and defence systems all depend on satellite timing. NavIC means India controls that for itself. NVS-03 also carries an atomic clock made in India. Not long ago, we imported every one. Next, the satellite climbs to its parking spot, with NVS-04 and NVS-05 lined up after that. Steady progress, lessons learnt from setbacks, and a system getting stronger with every launch. Well done, Team ISRO ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ

Bronze was widely used for tools, but it was not harder than agate. Shaping such a stone required abrasive techniques and considerable skill. Now look at the bands. They are not painted. โ€œKarwa Chauth enslaves women!โ€ โ€œPatriarchal oppression!โ€ โ€œIndiaโ€™s grandest superstition!โ€ Relax. Thatโ€™s not my verdict. Itโ€™s the annual outrage script. Big slogans. Little homework. Now, open an actual scripture. Narada Purana. Purva Bhaga. Chapter 113, verses 43-50. The name? Karaka Vrata. Not a Bollywood invention. โ€œCaturthyฤแนƒ kฤrtike kแน›แนฃแน‡e, karakฤkhyaแนƒ vrataแนƒ smแน›tam.โ€ - Verse 43. Kartika. Dark fortnight. The fourth lunar day. Then comes Verse 44: โ€œStrฤซแน‡ฤm evฤdhikฤro โ€™tra, tadvidhฤnam udฤซryate; pลซjayecca gaแน‡ฤdhฤซล›aแนƒ, snฤtฤ strฤซ samalaแน…kแน›tฤ.โ€ The observance belongs to women. The deity? Lord Ganesha. And the ritual? Bathe. Dress auspiciously. Offer ten karakas (vessels) of cooked food. Gift to married women and Brahmins (The Teachers not Caste). Offer water to the rising Moon (Symbolic). Then eat. Observe it for 12 or 16 years. Or for life. Why? Saubhagya. Prosperity of Family. Auspicious married life. Conjugal well-being. Strong Desha or Rashtra. The famous plastic net? The fake-moon drama? Kajol - SRK stupidity? Neither appears in these verses. Regional stories grew around it. Wrong verses added by Invaders. And traditions evolved. But look at what gets erased. A woman held ritual authority. She shaped family and community. She was a Homemaker. A warrior. A Queen. A Trader. And many such roles. Our civilization was never a one-line caricature. And here's some perspective. Swiss women won the federal vote only in 1971. So perhaps Western history isn't Bharat's only yardstick. Forced fasting? Never. Blind belief? No, thank you. But a woman's freedom to choose includes her freedom to observe. Calling every ritual โ€œoppressionโ€ without reading its source? That's not liberation. That's stupidity and arrogance with a hashtag. Families build communities. Communities build a Desha. Read the shloka. Then write your gyaan on Bharat.

Being the LoP @RahulGandhi, I suggest you refrain from politicising every issue. Also, casually labelling commercial and legal matters as criminal is unacceptable. You have repeatedly decried the successes of Indian industry & our entrepreneurs. Now, are you trying to incite our business leaders to join you in spreading distrust & toxicity? For decades, your party had smothered the spirit of the Indian entrepreneurs under the stifling โ€˜Licence-Quota Rajโ€™ & inflicted poverty on crores of Indians. On the other hand, our government led by PM @narendramodi values the Indian industry as job creators & drivers of economic growth. Our policies have been tailored to enable enterprise, support industry and encourage investment. Political parties, leaders, governments and institutions share an equal responsibility to support our industry, strengthen our farmers and secure the future of our youth. Therefore, it is essential to engage constructively rather than casting baseless aspersions to suit your narrow political motives. The Constitution of India ensures justice to all its citizens & our Honourable Courts are entrusted with upholding it. History is witness to the shoddy manner in which you, your party and the PMs belonging to your party have demeaned the judiciary. So Rahul ji, refrain from seeing ghosts everywhere.
Tata is being criminally destroyed, and no business leader dares say a word. How long will you stay silent? Until they own you? Indian business is not Modi and Shah's plaything. You lack courage. We don't. We will ensure justice for these crimes.

Would anyone be surprised if the @IndianExpress starts looking around for a scapegoat on whom theyโ€™ll hang the โ€œflawed investigationโ€ ? ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค” Who might that person be, I wonder? ๐Ÿค”
The ECI affidavit before the Supreme Court of India signed no less by all three election commissioners makes it crystal clear that the Indian Express report by Ritika Chopra claiming that there was a mutiny inside the election commission was patently false.ย  This is irresponsible reporting and an apology to the Election Commission of India and the individual Election Commissioners must follow immediately.ย  The trend of baselessly attacking democratic institutions to discredit India must be countered aggressively.ย  I hope also that Mr Rahul Gandhi has learnt a valuable lesson from all of this. A wise lawyer from his own party had publicly stated in an interview to @BDUTT that it is risky to abuse the jurisdiction of Court to settle scores or build political narratives.ย  Precisely that has happened.ย  Mr Gandhi, goaded by some โ€œwiseโ€ person in his own party, willingly took the bait offered by the Express and ran to Court - now obviously the Top Court will toss his petition out since its very basis has now been proved to be a total fairytale.

Remembering this ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿป valiant Son of Maa-Bharati, who was a fierce patriot and a strategic warrior, on his death anniversary! In his life there are lessons for modern-day patriots - UNITE and COLLABORATE against the bigger ADVERSARIES! Let minor differences NOT AFFECT SOLIDARITY!
Today is death anniversary of Yashwant Rao Holkar, last of the great Maratha rulers, who fiercely resisted British expansion, forged alliances, and built a modern army, yet was tragically betrayed by fellow rulers, forcing him into a lonely but undefeated struggle. Born into the Holkar dynasty, Yashwant Rao emerged during a succession crisis after Ahilyabai Holkarโ€™s death in 1795. Opposed the weak ruler Kashi Rao and survived political assassinations and imprisonment before ascending the throne in 1799 with popular and military support. Launched northern and southern campaigns to expand Holkar power. After his brother Vithoji was executed by the Peshwa, Yashwant Rao attacked Ujjain and Pune, defeating the combined Peshwa-Scindia forces in 1802 at Hadapsar. His victories led to the Treaty of Bassein, where the Peshwa surrendered to the British, marking a turning point in Maratha decline. Tried to unite Maratha rulers (Scindia, Bhonsle, Gaekwad) against the British, but was repeatedly betrayed.Despite isolation, he defeated British forces at Konch, Kota, and Deeg, and repelled sieges at Bharatpur. Refused to surrender even when surrounded. Famously declared: My country and property are upon the saddle of my horse, and please God, to whatever side the reins of the horses of my brave warriors shall be turned, the whole of the country in that direction shall come into my possession. Ultimately signed a peace treaty in 1805, which restored his territories unconditionall, a rare gesture from the British acknowledging his strength. Built a cannon factory in Bhanpura and raised a 100,000-strong army to attack the British.Died in 1811 at age 35, worn down by betrayal and personal loss.
