Some peace in a devastating time of disaster!
#disasteranimals
Some of you may remember Martyn, the bull who wandered into a Ukrainian military position in 2023 and ended up living with the soldiers for more than a year. Eventually, one of the servicemen took him home from the front.
Well, here’s what happened years later. ❤️
That soldier has since turned his home into a refuge for animals rescued from the front. Other servicemen can bring him abandoned animals they encounter and cannot bear to leave behind.
Martyn now has plenty of company: donkeys, goats, pigs, raccoons, geese, sheep, lots of cats and other animals, all brought back from the war zone and given a safe home.
I’ve never seen a lobster swim a breast stroke. But then again AI can make anything happen.

WATCH: Ranchers evacuate nearly 150 cows as the fast-moving Sinlahekin Fire closes in on the community.
The cattle were rushed through the streets of Conconully, Washington, in a dramatic race to safety.
“We didn’t hesitate and jumped right in to help,” one resident said after joining ranchers to steer the herd out of danger.
The wildfire has now grown to 85,000 acres and remains 0% contained, according to fire officials.
Good job, paddle boarders!
That Texas flood is no joke. Thank you for saving the raccoon, but beware of other wildlife that might not be so friendly.

Every crew needs a good leader… apparently ours has four legs. 🐐🔥
While working on the Rock Creek Fire, our firefighters got an unexpected escort from a very determined goat who led them toward the fire area and helped with some fuel mitigation along the way.
We’re not saying he’s ready for a badge… but we’re also not saying he isn’t. 😂

‼️HAWAIʻI FLOOD RESPONSE‼️ Alley Cat Allies has been on the ground in Oahu to rush rapid response care to cats impacted by the flash floods.
Our Rapid Response Team set up feeding stations to provide food and water to community cats, and we're supporting local caregivers who are doing everything they can to care for the cats through it all.
Community cats are savvy survivors and have deep-rooted instincts that guide them to higher ground during floods. However, many cats have likely been displaced from their homes by the disaster. Alley Cat Allies is continuing to act on the ground, and we're working to connect with local organizations and advocates to strategize further action.
The scope of the flood impact--reportedly the worst on the islands in more than 20 years--is only now starting to be assessed. As we work to protect the cats of Hawaiʻi, your support will help us save lives. Please consider an emergency gift at alleycat.org/Donate.
