Today's #MutualAppreciationMonday thanks is for Ellen Lewis, who created this 11x14 portrait on canvas of Yours Truly. Thank you, Ms. Lewis.
I'm back after a couple of weeks away from work, and feeling ready to get back to the bass! 💪 What's everyone working on? Anyone doing a September reset with their bass playing? It feels like a good time to refocus on our practice routines.
Happy birthday to the luthier Martyn Bailey who did an amazing neck graft on my bass many years ago. 🥳⭐🎻

As a bass extraordinaire, big band leader, composer and educator, Christian McBride has been called one of the hardest-working men in jazz.
He’s as comfortable performing with jazz icons as he is with artists like Sting and Billie Eilish.
Senior arts correspondent @JeffreyBrown recently met McBride at his hometown jazz festival for our arts and culture series, CANVAS.
Sharing happy memories of our two-part interview with the great François Rabbath 🌟
