IMO we should also think about land as a key input that will see no new competition and will become more relatively scarce. And so then we should ask, what types of labor are complimentary to land? thedispatch.com/newsletter/d…

The faster things can go up into orbit, the faster SpaceX can start printing even more cash through its AI and connectivity business. Also, everything becomes less expensive with scale. We have a sitution with rapidly expanding revenue and rapidly declining costs, simultaneously.

Tesla is not stopping at the Cybercab - Tesla already has plans for future vehicles 😳 In Munro Live's Cybercab Deep Dive, Robbie Sumpf, Tesla's Battery Engineering Director mentions that the battery pack in the Cybercab was designed to accommodate future vehicles "As we're thinking about future vehicles and a common architecture, you can have the length of the pack vary, and have it not impact your feet position if there's a second and third row" Production of new AV form-factors might arrive sooner than we think 😯

Well, well, well... 80% of "donations" to Nigel Farage’s party are from donors or companies based overseas. This is not normal. And the public deserves to know what these super-rich donors want back in return.

Fantastic interviewing from the BBC’s @sallynugent. Imagine if Farage had got this kind of scrutiny and persistent questioning from UK media interviewers over the past decade? The UK might not be in the mess it is today. Look how annoyed and uncomfortable he is.

A robot duck walking through simulated snow! 🦆 MicroDuck from @huggingface walking through a snowy scenery simulated in NVIDIA Newton with a custom snow solver. We all know that this robot duck is quite comfortable on the stage, but right now we can see it's quite capable in the snow too! ❄ The snow is done properly, and it's very important to go more in details here. Flake sizes, masses and fall speeds come from measured snowfall literature going back to the 1970s. Flakes tumble like thin plates. The rate is a real 8 mm/h liquid equivalent, around 290,000 flakes airborne at once. Snow sticks according to the angle of repose at air temperature, rides along in each link’s own frame as the robot moves, and the feet press footprints into a 2 mm-resolution snowpack. The walking policy was trained in Isaac Lab and reimplemented in pure Newton, without the Isaac Lab runtime. Then checked against Isaac Lab running headless: observations matching to 1e-6, actions to 2e-6, an identical servo model across 4,088 random inputs, walking speed within 0.003 m/s. Twenty-two of twenty-two checks! ✅ Rendering snow is achievable!!! @TheRobotSimGuy 🐐, @NVIDIARobotics ~~ ♻️ Join the weekly robotics newsletter, and never miss any news → ziegler.substack.com

In a comment to the FAA, SpaceX says it wants to launch 10,000 times per year. The FAA asked for input on where to build new spaceports and how to give rocket launches priority in US airspace. They're preparing for 10,000 launches a year by 2035. SpaceX replied that rockets aren't the bottleneck anymore, the FAA's outdated air traffic processes are. They created their own airspace tool (Cleared) that most major US airlines already get for free. They also noted that Starbase Louisiana is designed for ~30 launches and reentries PER DAY (!!)

@Tesla may have solved one of the biggest problems EVs face on a racetrack: sustaining performance lap after lap. In April, I sat down with @joejustice, who owns and runs WIKISPEED EV Racing (@WIKISPEED). He described what happens when he pushes an EV on track. Around 30 minutes in, the battery gets hot. Power drops. The car goes from racing to crawling. Six months later, @larsmoravy explained how Tesla is engineering the new Roadster to overcome that limitation. The changes start inside the battery: • Double-sided cooling. Coolant tubes on both sides of the cells give heat a shorter path out. • Aluminum cell cans. Less weight and better heat transfer than conventional steel cans. • One-directional coolant flow. Coolant enters cold on one side of the pack and exits hot on the other before being cooled and recirculated. This produces more uniform heat flow than the usual down-and-back arrangement. • A titanium upper plate. Thinner and lighter than the usual steel cover, with better thermal insulation. • Custom 4680 cells. Chemistry developed specifically for high power, combined with a pack architecture designed to sustain it. And there’s a bonus: the same changes that help the battery deliver power and control heat also help it charge faster. In @Hagerty's walkthrough, the target is 15–80% in about 10 minutes. Lap. Recharge. Repeat. That’s the goal. Now the production car has to prove it.

Tesla's Texas @Robotaxi fleet is closing in on Waymo's Texas fleet. At Tesla's average of about 13 a day since Sept 1, it would pass Waymo in about 10 days or less. In Texas: • Tesla Robotaxi: 1,080 vehicles • Waymo: 1,207 vehicles Tesla's Texas fleet is currently 89% the size of Waymo's.

Genie 4 is quite an insane experience, generating game-like enviornments as you go. It isn't flawless but I can type "Neogothic brutalist city inhabited by robots and horses" & it creates one in a minute. Then I asked it to add dragons. Then a friendly otter NPC. All in realtime

At @GoogleDeepMind, we believe one of AI's most transformative impacts is empowering scientists to solve society's hardest problems. Over the past year, we've evolved our coding agent, @Google @Antigravity, to accelerate end-to-end scientific workflows combining our latest Gemini models with science-specific: • breakthrough models like AlphaFold and AlphaGenome • new interfaces like the Biomolecular Structure Viewer The impact of this integration has been transformative for the pace of our research. As an example, in a single session using Antigravity, our researchers working on antimicrobial resistance surfaced a novel antimicrobial peptide candidate. To support academic researchers leverage these tools, we've launched an Antigravity for Science credits program and are looking forward to what this enables: antigravity.google/use-cases… Read the antimicrobial resistance case study: deepmind.google/blog/acceler…

Very excited to share Genie 4, our incredible interactive world model, bringing together real-time physics, reasoning, and audio! Simulations within simulations, makes you wonder just how deep the rabbit hole goes... I have a feeling we will be finding out soon enough...
This is Genie 4, our most realistic and interactive world model yet. 🌐 Explore dynamic environments in real time to see how the scene responds, sounds, and how the people in it move, react, and speak.

this might be my last normal tweet before biotech goes vertical i'm not a whistleblower. I don't work at Lilly, Novo or any of the big labs but there is a massive shift happening in human biology right now. it's sitting in press releases and almost nobody reads them the last 6 months alone: - a once-daily pill roughly doubled median survival in metastatic pancreatic cancer (13.2 vs 6.6 months) - a one-time gene editing infusion cut hereditary angioedema attacks 87%, and 62% of patients stayed attack-free and off all other prevention for 6 months - a one-time gene edit for cholesterol dropped LDL up to 62%, and it held for over a year - a personalized mrna vaccine beat keytruda alone in a 1,137 patient melanoma phase 3 - retatrutide hit ~28% weight loss in a phase 3 - an ai-designed drug entered phase 3 - a pill that regrows hair passed its second phase 3 - an immunotherapy that could let some rectal cancer patients skip surgery, chemo and radiation just got fda approved - a man lived 271 days off dialysis on a pig kidney - human cells were caught passing chromosome-sized chunks of DNA to their neighbors, and it changes how the neighbors behave we are on the verge of an era where the human body is a software problem and the update cycle gets shorter everyday stick around, it's going to get weird bio/acc

💸 If you’re hoping to get $1M from Trump for reporting voting fraud, you might be disappointed. Not even the multiple election deniers Trump hired to find evidence of fraud came up with anything. That’s because voter fraud is actually incredibly rare: demdock.com/4jE80Gu
