On Pokhran nuclear tests anniversary, I argue that India should lift its voluntary moratorium on nuclear testing as US has conducted nuclear tests more than 1000 times, Russia 715 times and China more than 45 times while India has conducted very low yield nuclear tests just twice. The yield difference we have with China is gigantic. Still, China is continuing with underground nuclear tests at Lop Nur and produced 100 nuclear weapons last year as Trump plans to resume testing over the next twenty months and Russia is building next generation smart nuclear weapons. @JagranNews jagran.com/editorial/apnibaa…

Allahabad High Court finally has a Bar President who seems determined to remind everyone that an Advocate’s dignity is paramount.
Imagine asking an advocate in full court uniform to apologise to a policeman inside court premises, while Justice J.J. Munir has once famously reminded an SHO of the hierarchy of the courtroom "High Court mein do hi sahab hote hain ek Judge Sahab aur doosre Vakil Sahab. Teesra koi nahi"
The Bar is not meant to be subservient to the uniformed force. An advocate is an officer of the court, not somebody to be humiliated to satisfy an officer’s ego.
Respect the robe. Respect the institution.

Judges often summon public servants for dereliction of their duties which we all know is motivated not by negligence but by pure corruption. Once they appear in the Court, they are merely censored with catchy phrases which make it to headlines next day. No real action is ever taken against such officers. No one is suspended. No one ever faces any real consequences. If that wasn't enough, Judges are now also reserving seats in the front row for this corrupt species that is eating India from within like termites.

Advocates are officers of the court who make the functioning of the court possible while the public servants appearing in courts are mostly there either to produce some documents or to answer for some dereliction of their duties or railroading common citizens. A Court cannot be giving preferential treatment to such public servants while disrespecting its own officers. If Presiding Officer of a court is disrespecting its own officers, he is disrespecting his own court and thus, guilty of contempt of his own court. Period.

It is only when the advocates themselves found the report shockingly approving to approach the Court, the bench reordered an audit and the canteen was closed temporarily for a couple of days.

जिस उत्तर प्रदेश के क़ानून-व्यवस्था तारीफ़ में हमलोग लिखते-बोलते हैं, कभी सोचा नहीं था कि वहाँ अपने साथ इस तरह की घटना हो जाएगी। ये शर्म की बात है!
नेपाल से तीर्थाटन के लिए कुछ रिश्तेदार आए हुए थे। परिवार है। प्रयागराज के झूसी स्थित कटका तिराहा पर गाड़ी का शीशा तोड़कर पर्स-कार्ड वगैरह ले गए लुटेरे।
दिन-दहाड़े इस तरह की घटना का होना दुर्भाग्यपूर्ण है।

Sura an Nisa of the Qur'an ( verse 4:34 ) permits husbands to beat their disobedient wives.
I spoke to a Muslim friend and said this verse should be deleted from the Qur'an, as it was unacceptable in the modern age.
He in turn asked his wife her opinion whether it should be deleted.
His wife replied " I don't mind being beaten by you, but nothing can be deleted from the Qur'an, as it is the word of God "

यूपी पुलिस के लिए इससे अधिक शर्मसार करने वाली स्थिति भला क्या होगी?
एक हत्यारोपी महिला मेकअप करके धड़ाधड़ इंटरव्यू दे रही है, जिसके काले कारनामों की फेहरिस्त सबके सामने आ चुकी है। पुलिस को धता बताकर फिर रही है, न्यूज एजेंसी को बुलाकर इंटरव्यू दे रही है। इस पर ईनाम कितना भी घोषित हो जाए पर अगर ये सरेंडर करने में कामयाब हो गई तो पुलिसिंग का वो काला अध्याय होगा। फिलहाल पुलिस को ज्ञान बांट रही है, शातिर अंदाज में खुद को बेकसूर बता रही है।
