"Rigid adherence shifts care towards interventions and prescribing, and away from where it should really be — on the patient’s priorities, preferences and values."
Agree. Ditto where access, use of AI, COI of QOF/LES & digital interaction becomes inflexible & bypasses humanity.
“I believe that modern general practice has become so focused on targets and guideline adherence that we risk losing sight of what matters most to patients”

>40% of the followers of our @juniorparkrunUK event appear to be scantily clad women [no joke]
We need to rethink our marketing - obvs🤔
Whilst we do that perhaps some of you/them might consider wearing something a bit warmer and volunteering on a Sunday😉

So, the ‘white cane’ is always associated with #blind & #VisuallyImpaired people…
But guess what? Canes come in a variety of colours and here’s my collection!
They’re exactly the same as white canes…they’re just not white!
Colour matters even when you can’t see 💕

ALT The picture shows a woman standing next to a brick wall. She has blonde hair and is wearing a light green hoodie, blue jeans, and white sneakers. Leaning against the wall are several long canes, each a different bright color. The canes are arranged in a row and include colors like yellow, pink, red, orange, green, blue, and purple. The ground is paved with gray bricks, and there is a strip of grass to the left of the woman. The wall is made of reddish-brown bricks.

Just how hard can it be to “run blind”?
Pretty easy???
Turns out it’s harder than @AstroMYK and @RoseMac01 think as they take on me and @barton_kell in the #Blindfoldchallenge @Southportpkrun

We’re thrilled at the involvement of people with visual impairments #VI at our event BUT we’d like to do more
How can we encourage more people with VIs to walk, jog, run or volunteer @parkrunUK ? 🤔

Getting 400,000 people out and active in their community for free, every week, in 2400+ locations, is no mean feat.
It takes an army.
And it was amazing to celebrate the incredible contributions of all who make parkrun happen with the PM @10DowningStreet
To the next 20yrs 🥂 – at Chertsey, South East

A labour of love but so pleased to see it in print @BioMedCentral. An honest account of the highs & lows of community outreach. There are challenges, but parkrun is addressing them & I'm thrilled to be working with them to grow & diversify junior parkrun🌟 doi.org/10.1186/s12889-024-1…

Imagine running a 5K in <27 min with your eyes shut 🤔
That’s basically what the awesome @barton_kell achieved today for her 250th @parkrunUK event
She’s been considering a crack at this for about a year. It’s a joy and a privilege to see her pull it off 👏👏👏
@PSH_A1674
For 249 parkruns I have been guided using a tether.
But today for my 250th #parkrun @Southportpkrun I ran untethered & it felt amazing!
With the help of 4 #guiderunners who kept me safe and gave me verbal cues to get round I finished in 26:57

Seeing the same GP reduces your risk of an emergency admission to hospital or of needing to use the out of hours service by 30% and astonishingly reduces the risk of dying in the following 12 months by 25%
And knowing your patients makes being a GP a wonderful job. @rcgp
