It's the same reason why the money for bank bailouts in 2008 should have been given to the people not the banks - because it would have eventually ended up in the banks, just going via every business in local communities on its journey!

Why? Because sandra can afford to pay her staff better or take on more employees. That generates tax revenues - employees who also take the bus, save money and then spend next to their work!

But the end result is the same. Those passengers have more money in their pockets and sandra who runs the wee cafe near the station sells more coffee and sandwiches and doesn't go out of business. £20 million translates to £60m for the wee guy and local shops.
The £2 bus fare cap in the Highlands has cost Scotrail £750,000 per annum - the rail firm says if that 12% fall in revenue is replicated in Strathclyde, it could cost it £20m a year.

Oh, I think you're doing a really good job of not understanding much of anything at all. P.S. Your avatar is a pure riddy. xitter.gq/thecoastguy/status/211…
It’s quite the moment when you realise there isn't enough time to understand much of anything at all.

Coming a couple of days after the Acorn funding lies the ban on N Sea drilling is just another step in Westminster's plan to weaken Scotland's economy & make it more Westminster dependent.

There is little doubt that this Labour @GOVUK is determined to de-industrialise Scotland: xitter.gq/DickWinchester/status/…

It's the one BBC Scotland statistic that's increasing.

BBC Scotland has been forced to issue yet another correction relating to the SNP after falsely claiming John Swinney had announced plans to take buses into public ownership. How many more 'mistakes' like this are to be allowed before an inquiry is held into the station?

Victoria Derbyshire has faced a wave of criticism after defending the Israeli government’s position when Bernie Sanders described it as 'extremist' during an appearance on BBC Newsnight 🗣️'Why are we still doing this?'

Patricia's turn this week to abuse her position as an MP to attack the SNP from the benches of WM. Outwith her jurisdiction but this is now become a weekly pantomime from the useless, pathetic, Scottish Labour MP shills in WM. Tiresome, ineffective, and utterly desperate stuff.
The @UKLabour Govt has delivered a record funding settlement for Scotland - but still our vital public services are struggling. It's time the SNP Govt stopped the excuses and focused on delivering better public services for people in Glasgow West & across Scotland.

It seems that the green parties (Scotland and England), Plaid Cymru and the SNP, are the only remaining mainland progressive political parties that are not influenced by far-right, anti immigrant, racist, money grabbing scumbags.
Zack Polanski has created a political party that tells the truth, where each member is free to speak the truth. El-Sayed in the US has fought against his own party to speak the truth - we need to recognize how different The Green Party is, and support it.

@J4m35c4mpb3ll makes an excellent point: xitter.gq/J4m35c4mpb3ll/status/2… If our oil stays in our waters until after independence, it's our money in our subsea bank. Westminster has stolen enough of Scotland's natural resources.
What doesn’t belong to you is not yours to outlaw. On the flip side it’s more resources available for Scots when we become independent. Happy days.

"Unionist" but refusing the Union’s laws. "Loyalist" but completely disloyal to the actual British government when it governs. It’s an absurd contradiction: demanding to be part of the UK, but only if they get to decide which UK rules and agreements actually apply to them.

The English govt really are on a mission to shut Scotland down aren’t they. There must be some desperate reason for them to choke the life out of Scotland. Better together my arse! thenational.scot/news/267004…
