1. Pattern of the Day: Bull Flag
A stock makes a strong move higher, then pauses in a tight, slightly downward-sloping consolidation while volume dries up.
That pause often signals buyers catching their breath, not heading for the exits. The next leg higher typically begins when price breaks above the top of the flag on increasing volume.
Here's a recent example on $SYNA

Market is showing strong momentum as it gaps to the upside after post election, making this week's close especially important. $SPY is gapping up, and for this move to remain healthy, we'd like to see a few follow-through sessions and eventually a constructive retest of the gap left behind. Holding that gap would provide a solid foundation for further upside continuation.
$QQQ and $SMH both look weak and closed below their 200-day moving averages yesterday. They need to reclaim those levels quickly otherwise market could face more downside pressure in the near term.
$SPY is still holding up, because money rotated into the healthcare and energy sectors. Oil and gas have started to pull back, but healthcare remains relatively strong. If healthcare starts to weaken as well, SPY could eventually test its 200-day MA

5. Pattern of the day: Cup and Handle
Price forms a rounded, U-shaped base, rallies back toward the prior high, and then pulls back slightly. This brief consolidation forms the handle, which often precedes a breakout move.
$GCT broke out of the handle on October 7 and has continued moving higher since.
6. Pattern of the day: Ascending Triangle
A flat resistance line across the highs and a rising trendline beneath the lows.
Sellers continue to defend the same ceiling, but each pullback is bought at a higher level, creating pressure against resistance.
Confirmation comes with a strong close above the flat resistance level on increased volume. The pattern is invalidated if price closes below the rising trendline.
$AAPL is showing this setup right now, with price pressing against the 347 resistance area.

$ELF beauty continues to perform well in this risk-off environment, showing notable relative strength while much of the market remains under pressure.
$QQQ lost its trendline from the summer lows and is hovering around 719, with the MACD crossing below the zero line. A move towards next support level at 700 looks increasingly likely. The market is signaling risk-off, and so am I.
