Ukraine in Iraqi war 2003-2011 Many Americans and other Ukraine sceptics dont even know, that Ukraine joined the American war against Iraq in 2003 (the fake war that Saddam had weapons of mass-destruction). The US went in the March 2003, Ukraine WITHOUT being even close to become a NATO country NOR were they EVER obligated to do so, joined the War in Iraq sometime in August same year, doing ACTIVE patroling and fighting Iraqi military at first, when Saddam was taken away, Ukraine helped NATO to provide training to the new Iraqi forces, Ukraine was only considered a NATO partner an the were NOT obligated to join. They first join up as a responsible member of UN, un til they "joined" NATO and trained Iraqi personel. Why? Because Ukraine already back in early and late 00s was trying to show the western world that theywanted to be a part of the Western society and distance themselves to the ruSSians. No shits were given about that. During Ukraines time in the Iraq war, around 5100 Ukrainians was fighting together with western allies (cant call them allied since the west neglected them later on) though both UN in the beginning and went stayed with NATO. During this period of time, 18 Ukrainian perished in Iraq. Ukraine finally went home sometime in 2011.
