.@PeteHegseth, cabinet secretaries shouldn't be wasting taxpayer dollars on campaign style videos. Kristi Noem learned that the hard way.
This is about you: the incompetence you’ve displayed, the bad advice you’ve given to president, and your shameful and embarassing episodes from firing our top generals to texting war plans to reporters.

Peggy Noonan, the Reagan speechwriter who has spent decades as the Wall Street Journal’s keeper of the old Republican flame, has written the GOP’s obituary. Her verdict: Trump is the author of the ruin.
It wasn’t the war alone, she argues. It was the prices. The tariffs. Above all, the corruption, showy and shameless: crypto, pardons, federal contracts for his sons’ companies. Then came the decadence. Three days before the election, Trump threw a jungle-themed Halloween party with a caviar bar while Americans outside the gates added up their grocery receipts.
Ron DeSantis called Tuesday’s results “close to an extinction level event” for his party. Trump’s response: sign a ballroom beam, declare his office a national monument, and blame Fox’s polls.
Noonan has a line for that: “Please. It was you, Fredo.”
When a Reagan speechwriter is quoting The Godfather at you, the party is over.

I’m sure my parents are smiling from heaven.
This week, I saw more of the America they worked for reflected in the people elected to lead us.
I’m grateful to everyone whose organizing, courage and commitment helped make these victories possible. May we carry that work forward with love, a commitment to justice and the determination to create the Beloved Community.

🚨 THE WHITE HOUSE IS IMPLODING!
MSNOW’s White House correspondent Paula Reid says White House staff is so frustrated with Trump’s focus on his ballroom that officials are planning mass resignations - and may even include Trump’s Chief of staff:
REID: “One official tells the team, quote, "The president's attention is all over the place. How many people are preparing briefs on what marble to pick for X project?"
Now, that same official said morale is low, and that the glitz and the glam of the White House is wearing off.
So not surprisingly, we're told people wanna leave.”
🚨 BREAKING: Texas Governor-elect Gina Hinojosa fires back at Donald Trump following his warning about what would happen if she attempts to reopen the southern border.
“You cannot tell me what to do in my state. I am a Democratic governor, and I know what is best for my people. I have the interests of all Texans at heart, and I will do everything possible to be the best governor for this state. Texas is our home, and we will work to make it a peaceful place for everyone.”
Yesterday, Gina Hinojosa said her administration would work for ALL Texans, not just those who voted for her. She also outlined the next steps as she prepares to take over the governor’s office.
During her first press conference, she introduced her bipartisan transition team and explained what Texans should expect from her incoming administration.
Among the transition team members is Ernest Bailes, a former Republican state representative who opposed Governor Greg Abbott’s school voucher plan.
Hinojosa says she intends to represent the entire state, regardless of political affiliation, and work for both Democrats and Republicans.
“I will work for all Texans, irrespective of their political party, whether Democrats or Republicans. We all call Texas home.”
😱BREAKING: President Trump has warned that if Texas’ new Democratic governor, Gina Hinojosa, attempts to reopen the southern border, HE WILL STEP IN AND SECURE IT HIMSELF.
“If they don’t continue my policy? I WILL!”
Trump says he will ensure that Texas’ border remains secure if the state’s new leadership refuses to maintain his border policies. 🔥
Thankfully, the federal government still has a role to play in border security. Deportations continue, and Trump says the border will remain secured.
Meanwhile, Trump has also signed an executive order requiring Congressional approval before any future administration can make major modifications to the Oval Office or Cabinet Room.
This comes after he oversaw the demolition of an entire wing of the White House without Congressional approval. The move raises questions about the limits of presidential authority over changes to the historic White House.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The video shows Texas Gov.-elect Gina Hinojosa at her Nov. 5 press conference announcing a bipartisan transition team and discussing public schools/unity, not border policy or Trump. U.S.-Mexico border security is primarily a federal responsibility.

🇺🇸 Bernie Sanders on the changes he foresees for America after the midterms:
"The American people want a tax on billionaires so that we can have universal child care, we can make public colleges tuition-free, and we can build millions of units of low-income and affordable housing.
It's time that the billionaire class, many of whom pay an effective tax rate lower than a truck driver, start paying their fair share of taxes."

Jane Fonda was giddy about the election Thursday night at the Women in Film Honors gala. “I felt pretty optimistic, but I didn’t dare imagine that it would be this broad,” she said. “I’m just so proud of American people, that they were paying attention and it wasn’t just about affordability."

I have an idea for Senate Majority Leader. He might be too old to run for president, but he’s not too old to be the leader in the Senate for the next two years. And we can definitely trust him to fight for populist issues. I nominate @BernieSanders to be the people’s Leader!

Good. Can we be done with this, please! We’ve won over 250 seats, let’s celebrate our new house speaker, @RepJeffries
Dear @WhiteHouse: trump’s name will never be on the Kennedy Center or the Reflecting Pool.
The trump arch will not be built.
And in two years, Congress and the next Administration will erase trump’s name and stench from everything he has touched.

The largest two US cities are now run by Indian Democratic Socialists btw
Troy Jackson was in 7th grade when his father took him to a picket line in northern Maine. His father cut timber for a living, and he and the other loggers were on strike against a landowner. At home, Troy’s parents hoped he would find an easier way to make a living. But at 19, he went into the woods and became the fifth generation of his family to cut timber.
Some weeks he put in 80 hours between cutting trees, driving trucks and running heavy equipment. By 1998, he was helping organize a protest of his own. Maine loggers were worried about how much they were being paid and whether they’d have work. Jackson and other loggers blockaded a border crossing used by crews coming in from Canada. He also went to his U.S. senator, Susan Collins, to ask for help. Jackson says the help he was looking for never came.
Four years later, people in his part of Maine elected him to the state House. He spent 20 years in the legislature, eventually becoming president of the Maine Senate. One of the laws he helped pass gave loggers and the truckers who hauled their timber the right to bargain together. For men doing the work his father had done, that meant they could sit down together and ask for better pay.
Isitoshe,
Earlier this year, Jackson ran for governor and finished third in the Democratic primary. Then in July, the party needed a new nominee for the U.S. Senate. It turned to Jackson, who had a little over 100 days to make his case to voters across Maine.
On Tuesday, Maine elected him to the Senate. When Troy Jackson first went to Susan Collins for help, he was still cutting timber for a living. Nearly three decades later, the people of Maine sent him to Washington to take her seat.
