❄️🌨️STORM GORETTI LATEST AND STAYING COLD UNTIL AT LEAST THE WEEKEND 🌨️❄️ Storm Goretti was named by the Meteo France this morning and will being some poor weather to parts of France, Belgium, Netherlands, England and Wales with potential impacts here in Ireland also. A area of low pressure also know as a slider low center will track of the south coast of Ireland and across southern England. Anyone heading to England, Wales, Netherlands and Belgium Thursday into Friday please be aware parts will be hit with heavy snowfall. Across France this will bring Heavy rainfall and windy conditions. For Ireland there is some uncertainty but the latest track has some of the precipitation turning to snow across the south and south east across Munster and south Leinster but at this current time most of the snow and accumulations look like it will be mainly high ground as the low pressure system bumps into the colder air. Once the higher resolution models come into the time frame we will know much more by tomorrow. Across the west, northwest and north there will also be the risk of further showers on Friday, Saturday and Sunday with potentially some of these falling as snow again giving accumulations, I will monitor this over the coming days and provide updates as the higher resolution models come into play. Thursday night into Friday morning, Friday night into Saturday morning and Saturday night into Sunday morning temperatures at night will fall between -3C and 0C in some places which could lead to issues with icy conditions on roads. So please be careful if you plan travel On Sunday I am currently keeping a eye on another area of low pressure that could run up the country and hit the colder air bringing snowfall to some but this is still some time out yet to go into any detail so it will be at least Friday before we get a feel how that plays out.
