You’ve got to be kidding! 🤬
New Zealand’s 10-year Government bond yield is around 4.9%, not 1–2%. Yet apparently, that’s what the Greens were working with until just a couple of hours ago.
Their plan relies on borrowing to fund their promises, but getting the interest rate wrong could leave taxpayers facing a much bigger bill.
Interest rates aren’t something politicians can simply laugh away.
But go on, chuckle along. It’s only our children’s futures you’re borrowing against. 😡
Rodney & I are on the same page.
A centre-right govt. National with an overhang & a party vote it can't use. ACT & NZ First up. Opportunity out.
The big losers are the NZ media.
And this is positive for the Nats. It returns the power to its electorates.

Wow she is Ardern level incompetent. She famously did not know what GDP stood for. (allegedly)😂
Good grief.
Green Party co-leader Marama Davidson has just been asked a simple question: What is the interest rate on govt debt?
Davidson: “about 1 to 2 percent.”
The 10-year NZ govt bond yield is currently around 4.9 percent.
Davidson is completely clueless about govt debt, no wonder the Greens’ promises add up to a whopping $272 billion over four years.

The @NZGreens admits that none of their members know what the interest rate is on our debt.
They want our debt high to pay for unproductive socialist shit so they can tax us harder.
Assholes.

The Greeds co-leaders did not know what the interest on government debt was
They guessed 1-2%
It's 4.9%
The Greeds also want to borrow hundreds of billions more
These are not serious people and they certainly shouldn't have anything to do with government finance

Peters hasn't endorsed another party's candidate in 33 years of NZ First. He did last night in Avalon. The maths backs him: NZ First took 2,257 party votes in Hutt South in 2023, and Bishop's majority was 1,332. Party vote NZ First, electorate vote Bishop.

On Radio NZ today, National leader Chris Luxon said he will happily work with Labour to get legislation through that his coalition partners will not support.
Now you now why it is essential that National's power is reduced as much as possible in any elected centre right coalition.
Simple as. If you're a centre right supporter, then shifting your vote from National to ACT or NZ First will help prevent this kind of treachery and simultaneously keep the left out of govt.
Most importantly, it will stop the wet woke wavering Mr Luxon giving Labour the power you never granted them.
