Dooms

GoFundMe can refund a donation, but nobody can refund a prayer. At 81 years old, Don Johnson drives around North Texas carrying luggage people lost at the airport just to pay for his wife Josephine’s cancer treatments. 57 years of marriage, and he’s still keeping his promise. When strangers found out, they raised over $700,000 to help him. Then GoFundMe shut the campaign down, refunding every single dollar. We don't know the whole story yet—maybe it was just a technicality—but all that money went back. Yet when a news crew asked Josephine how she was doing, she didn’t mention the money. She talked about the thousands of strangers praying for her and said four simple words: "I can face it." A company can return the cash, but nobody can take back the prayers that reminded her that she isn't alone. That is the real heart of America.
