When I was the athletics correspondent at the @guardian and started reporting accusations in 2002 that American sprinter Marion Jones was being linked to doping I was warned by a very senior IAAF - now @WorldAthletics - official that “they would run me out of town”. Needless to say there was no apology when she was finally busted.

Ridiculous - whether it was accidental or planned. You get tested twice with a banned (steroid) substance… you should be gone for 2 years. Your performance was enhanced. Massage cream…. Yeah nice 🙄
BREAKING: Jannik Sinner has escaped a drugs ban after a tribunal accepted that two failed tests in March were caused through contamination from a massage by his physiotherapist. A tribunal in London ruled that the world No 1 bears "no fault or negligence". thetimes.com/article/2614b81…
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The report says there wasn't any performance enhancing: Professor David Cowan: “Even if the administration had been intentional, the minute amounts likely to have been administered would not have had […] any relevant doping, or performance enhancing, effect upon the player”

We do have some very good journalists who have written about this in the mainstream press.
They are in the minority but I would recommend following to begin with:
@Lawton_Times
@duncanjourno
@sportingintel
@BBCMarkDaly
(There are more!)
So British athlete Jade Jones was cleared to compete at the #Paris2024 #Olympics but why doesn't the British press call for her to be banned over her clear bending of doping rules and UK anti-doping clearing her. Just saying.

If the present is different, when did athletes stop doping?
Was it sudden? Was it a gradual process? Did they all agree to it?
What was the moment sport finally became clean?

Very worrying situation for @WorldAthletics and @OlympicsKe as once again shows NO Kenyan athlete competing in @Olympics at @Paris2024 can be trusted.
