In his Autumn statement, the UK Chancellor @Jeremy_Hunt yesterday unveiled his Govt's contempt for the Paris Agreement & wider climate agenda. Sadly, the shadow Chancellor @RachelReevesMP offers much of the same. Two political minnows infinitely circling the growth bowl.

Attached is my longer reply to the Guardian question: "The wealthiest 1 per cent of people on the planet are responsible for double the greenhouse gas emissions of the poorest half of people. When it comes to tackling the climate crisis, is this a problem?

Short & worthwhile thread. Bluntly, don't trust Oil & Gas execs. Their agenda is simple: mislead, co-opt, bribe, lie, use slick advertising, PR, anything, provided it delays the phase out of fossil fuels. It's their follow-up strategy to Merchants of Doubt en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Merchaβ¦

An important read for anyone seriously interested in climate change. The actions of 'developed' nations (reinforced by the complicit silence of most climate experts) usher in a "neo-colonisation" era.
