Who decided that "Christian" entertainment had to be safe, grandmother approved, Hallmark channel slop?
The stories from the bible are raw, dangerous and violent. Mel Gibson is the only filmmaker with any huevos rancheros.

I understand why the genre might not be someone’s cup of tea. I don’t particularly gravitate to it myself, usually. But it’s okay for Christians to tell and enjoy stories that are tense, suspenseful, even scary. There’s nothing inherently sinful about any of those feelings. And the categorical insistence on avoiding those feelings is precisely why almost all “faith based” entertainment is terrible. I would argue that bland, bad, boring “Christian entertainment” — which is almost all of it, truly — is a far greater cultural problem for Christians than any horror movie ever could be. Christians used to be the great storytellers of western civilization. That was back when they told difficult, complicated, sometimes bleak and violent stories. Not anymore. Now the stories are all very nice and pleasant, but they also suck and nobody with any taste can stand to watch them.
Selfless courage is so rare these days, especially from politicians. Haley Stevens was well aware of the consequences and made the difficult choice. She answered the question when her moment came.
Haley Stevens isn't dumb.
She knew before she backed Mike Rogers that she was abt to become the Democratic Party's greatest pariah this cycle. And that she'd never resurrect her political career if she did this.
If AES loses, she gets blamed. If he wins, she looks weak.
There is no political upside to what she did.
And yet she chose to do it anyway. Bc clearly she felt it was the right thing to do -- despite all the voices in her ear telling her not to.
Gutsy.
Dems aren’t sounding nearly as confident about the midterms as they were one week ago. Carville has been reduced to being a social media hit man making caustic sound bites.
Can't wait to hear Obama, Kamala and company start attacking Haley Stevens on the campaign trail tomorrow. She may not realize just how vindictive her own camp can be.
BREAKING: Mike Rogers makes late surge in Michigan's Senate race following Democrat Haley Stevens' shocking endorsement.

This puts El-Sayed in a real Catch-22. His first impulse will be to come out swinging and savage Haley Stevens as a traitor, but he risks alienating her voters who would still vote from him just because he's a Democrat.
What a pickle!
This is the most likely outcome no matter what happens in the midterms. Trump will proceed with business as usual. Democrats will continue to cry like babies on CNN.
🚨 TRUMP'S PLAN B: Lose Congress, and NOTHING changes.
Crazy bills get VETOED. The agenda keeps moving with the pen.
Larry Kudlow counts 288 executive orders in the first two years, and he expects even more on DEI, woke universities, and the culture war.
Democrats can impeach and obstruct all they want. The America First agenda isn't stopping!
Full throttle!
I needed this today
Mel Gibson paid Robert Downey Jr.'s insurance bond when no insurer would cover him. Eight years later, with Gibson's own career in ruins, Downey asked Hollywood to forgive him.
In 2003, Downey was coming off years of drug arrests, and no insurance company would cover him on a film set. Gibson, a producer on The Singing Detective, covered the insurance bond himself so Downey could play the lead.
Downey has said Gibson also told him not to give up hope and urged him to find his faith.
The only thing Gibson asked in return was that someday Downey help the next guy.
In 2006, Gibson was arrested in Malibu, and his own career collapsed.
In October 2011, Downey received the American Cinematheque Award and asked Gibson to present it. In the video below, Downey tells the room why he chose him. About that old favor, he says Gibson "didn't imagine the next guy would be him."
Then he urged Hollywood to forgive his friend.
Gibson later told Esquire it was "a bold and generous and kind gesture."
Did Downey owe Gibson that speech, or was it a risk nobody else in Hollywood was willing to take?
We barely watch Fox News anymore because of the way Fox Business treated Maria Bartiromo. She built Fox Business up from day one and they did her wrong.
Something is very wrong at Fox News and I don't like it.
Families need to stop trusting Disney with their children. Don't trust Disney+, the Disney parks, the Disney employees, or the Disney Cruise ships. We will not put another dollar towards Disney.

If we don't trust the polling, how can we trust the polling about how much we trust the polling?
See the problem?
Four days before Election Day, POLITICO ran a poll asking Americans whether they trust polls. Only 25% said polls correctly estimate votes. 41% said they underestimate one party or the other. Even Pew just warned these midterms will be "uniquely difficult for polls."
So the same industry that whiffed on Trump voters in 2016 and again in 2020 is now selling you a blue wave. Believe it and you may as well stay home.
A forecast can't fill out your ballot. Polls measure moods. Elections measure who actually showed up. Tired of being told how you feel? Tell them yourself on Tuesday.
But it's not wise to rely on the weather when so much is at stake.

Historically, rainy days suppress more liberal voters than conservative voters, for what it's worth.

I noticed this Domino's Pizza ad as well. There's nothing about how great the Pizza is, they are solving a problem that doesn't exist--struggling with the pizza box.
Domino’s Pizza has a commercial where a BLACK guy is so stupid, he tries to eat a regular-sized pizza while rock climbing, loses his grip, and falls screaming to his death.
Meanwhile, the white woman climbing next to him is smart enough to have her little Domino personal pizza safely tucked into a crevice, so she survives.
Then, another commercial has THREE DUMB BROS riding in a car along a mountain road.
The female passenger opens a giant Domino’s pizza box, blocks the driver’s vision, and sends the car flying off a cliff, killing them all.
And on the very same road they drove off, another happy family is enjoying their little Domino personal pizzas in their car.
One question:
HOW TF IS THE PROSPECT OF SUDDEN, HORRIFYING DEATH SUPPOSED TO SELL ME PIZZA?

Many years ago I spent real money on a proper Pirate Captain outfit. I figured it was justified since I have kids and grandkids, and every year at Halloween I put on the costume for a big street party we have, then it goes back in the closet for another year.
A solid investment.
American education can never be One Size Fits All. The cultural differences between San Francisco and lower Alabama make it impossible to have a single curriculum that serves both groups of students fairly.
Kalshi is literally "Pay to Win".
What people are calling a "prediction market" is nothing more than people investing cash to control the PERCEPTION of the outcome, even if it comes at a loss.
They pay to alter our expectations, just like modern polling.
We all want to see Omar removed from office, but 200K Somalis in Minnesota vote as one bloc and they already have the next Omar Version 2 waiting to take her place. It doesn't change the Minnesota voter dynamic one bit.
House Oversight James Comer just BLEW the Doors OFF on Ilhan Omar's Fake Winery: NO evidence of any wine at all, no barrels.
There isn't even any evidence there was a winery at all.
They were shut down for fraud, but Ilhan claimed it was worth $5,000,000 on her official Congressional Financial Disclosure forms.
She knowingly lied to Congress.
Lied about her age.
Lied about her name.
Lied about marriage.
Enough is enough, @RepJamesComer
