Aurora Fire Rescue, Aurora Police arrest arson suspect after several fires🚨 An arson suspect was arrested early this Tuesday morning following a series of fires involving vegetation, portable toilets, vehicles and the exterior and interior of apartment buildings in the area of East 16th Avenue and North Norfolk Street. Michael Anthony Lopez, 30, of Aurora, was arrested on multiple arson charges including second- and fourth-degree arson. He is in custody at the Aurora Municipal Detention Center on $50,000 bond pending his first appearance in Adams District Court. Formal charges will be filed by the Adams District Attorney’s Office. @AuroraFireDpt crews responded to multiple fires in the area over the last week and worked quickly to extinguish the fires and limit damage. At the same time, Aurora police officers coordinated with firefighters and investigators to assess the scenes, gather information and identify a suspect.
