I started playing Dead by Daylight years ago. 1,396 hours. Uninstalled.
I stopped playing because of the player base, and this week is proving exactly why.
Behaviour gave one of the biggest streamers on Twitch every character so he could play the game properly on stream. Behaviour's own statement says unlocking content for creators trying the game is normal. That's promotion. That's new eyes on a game that needs them.
And the community's response? Pile on the streamer, then send threats to the community manager who set it up. Over characters. In a video game.
You want new players, but you attack the biggest streamer to give your game a shot, and you go after the staff who made it happen. Then you wonder why nobody new sticks around.
I loved this game. I put nearly 1,400 hours into it. But this is why I left, and honestly, watching this, I'm glad I did.
It's a game. Get over it.

This weekend, a Dead by Daylight team member awarded in-game content and currency to a creator streaming our game. Although it is not unusual to unlock content to give creators discovering DbD a chance to have a sneak peek at available content, this decision was made without receiving appropriate approvals. Furthermore, the team member's subsequent comments and conduct do not align with Dead by Daylight’s core values.
When concerns about this decision became apparent during the stream, we should have responded by looking into these concerns, not dismissing them.
Unfortunately, we’ve now seen the fallout of this decision unfolding in many conversations across the DbD community. We appreciate and stand with our community’s willingness to ensure our shared values are being upheld, at all times, regardless of popularity, and we’re heartbroken at the inflammatory language now being directed towards our community.
At the same time, threatening employees will never be acceptable, and we’re asking everyone to stop engaging with these posts.
We apologize to our community for letting you down. We have already begun reviewing our internal processes to prevent an incident like this from happening again.
Just need 12 more Sprites and we got them all for this new season! Hopefully finish it before the next batch drops in Fortnite!
Ready to play. Ready to lose sleep over this
Three sleeps to go before WoW: Forever launches
ALT A countdown graphic featuring a large cream-colored number “3” above the word “DAYS,” marking three days until World of Warcraft: Forever launches. The World of Warcraft: Forever logo appears at the top, with a snowy mountain landscape in the background and an ornate gold decorative border framing the image.
Already people are putting up their Christmas tree…At least wait until after Remembrance Day. Xmas for me doesn’t start until December.

The Dead by Daylight community really is dead before daylight. A bunch of people staying up all night, getting zero sunlight, sleeping all day, and treating 8 viewers like they've made it as professional streamers.
Let's get something straight. Most of you are averaging 3 to 7 viewers while putting out the same recycled, copycat content everyone else is making. Meanwhile, BurntPeanut is pulling 45K 55K viewers across multiple streaming platforms.
When someone actually brings viewership, attention, and money to an aging, seasonal game, the companies benefiting from that exposure have every reason to recognize it. Most of you are jobless anyway and don't understand the basic principle of supply and demands. So obviously you don't understand why he got those privileges.
Until some of you can actually consistently produce numbers that actually move the needle, maybe stop acting like you're industry veterans because you're not!
Stop confusing a small audience with a successful career and stop wasting your twenties chasing validation in an industry where jealousy, fake friendships, and yes men are more common than actual talent.
Use Ai to make and publish your own game, write a book, build a tent, ride a bike, do something productive. Some of you get so stuck in your own twisted minds and stop thinking about the real world, some of y'all really be eating your own popcorn a little to much these day and need to wake the fuck up and get a grip!
We won the Tri-Sport Event!! I didn’t play the hockey portion but did the Volleyball and Curling part! Iv been dying at home since we finished vball but the groupchat we have showed that we won. Lets go!!!
I haven’t did the hockey since the first one that was ran years ago and I haven’t played since. At the time we had golf and baseball. Hopefully its run sooner next year.
Time to sleep and do a workout tmw before entertaining the internet. Time to fill out and get stronger. This is my health and I need to do a better job at taking care of myself
also. ALMOST EVERY VIDEO GAME COMMUNITY IS TOXIC. Just be you and have fun and don't take anything seriously. Focus on yourself, your brand, what u wanna do and surround yourself with the people that u get along with. Not everyone is a terrible person
Iv been biting my tongue on the recent DBD drama.
Just want to clear, I’m not defending or anything.
You have to know DBD community is severely toxic. I have mutuals I know that streamed it all the time but swapped out and streamed something else because of the constant negativity..heck some even stopped streaming altogether. When a bigger size creator streamed it recently, it wasn’t even a sponsorship/paid, they played with their friends out of whatever they do.
The company was hoping to bring in new ppl to the game in hopes to gain a new fan base. It was a business move from the game developers to hand them free DLC. Not the streamer you are mad at. Corporations will do anything to make their product succeed, thrive, profit. They do not care about emotions, feelings, etc. They care about being on top.
Iv been in business before for several companies i worked at, i understand this mindset. Its how the world works even if its sickening to you
Its official. I got my job back..im so fcking happy. Signed papers earlier today and then not even a hour later got asked to work the evening. We are so back. Oh and First playthrough of Little Nightmares 2 in the evening after my volleyball game. The revival iv been waiting for
I’m sorry..what?!?!
