Autumn leaves on The Close.

A new portal for Dovorians, past and present, is now live. To register, visit dovercollegeconnect.org.uk/ As well as providing a chance to reconnect with old friends, it includes a news feed, a place to offer mentoring/career guidance and a chance to share memories of times gone by.

Pupils, young and older, enjoyed the beautiful weather on their first day back at school. The light which bathed The Close early this morning was particularly beautiful. #HappyNewSchoolYear #ItsGoodToBeBack #TheSunIsShining

Lunch was delicious today, and judging by the empty plates that was a commonly held view! From roast turkey and trimmings to pasta carbonara or a delicious freshly prepared salad, out catering team have done us proud. The homemade carrot cake was outstanding #NewMenu #SchoolLunch

There has been much to celebrate this morning, with 27.5% of GCSE results graded at 8-9 and 44.1% at 7-9. The Headmaster comments, “We are not academically selective, so these results are down to incredible value-added. Pupils and staff have so much to be proud of today."

Our Upper Sixth achieved outstanding A Level results this year, with 53.2% graded at A* or A and 79% at B or above. A record number of BTEC results were at Distinction level. We are so proud of all that they have achieved and wish them success in the next stage of their lives.

Our hybrid Prize Day ceremonies on Thursday were a great success and we can't wait to share the recordings and photo galleries with the community. Unfortunately the school database is currently down, but as soon as it is back online we will send out the links.

We have a whole school photograph today and the weather is perfect! Who’d have thought it, given the dire forecast for this week. – at Dover, England

A lovely atmospheric shot of The Close at night. Thank you Mr Irwin for taking and sharing this.

Our new digital strategy is well underway, with the first year groups issued with their iPads this morning. Prep 5 & 6 and Fourth Form will road test the new devices over the coming week or so, before the programme is expanded to other year groups #DigitalLearning #1to1iPadScheme

We are thrilled to have been chosen to feature on the front cover of the Summer '21 edition of A+ Education, bundled with Kent Life, Sussex Life, Surrey Life and Hampshire Life. There's also an A+ School Report on the College on page 17. #KentSchools #DoverCollege #APlusSchools

Here we see St Martin's House in the 1920s. At that time it was, of course, a boys house. #ThrowbackThursday
