The difference today isn’t in how good the superstars are but how much better men 4-15 are then ever in history

My last Jazz / Keyonte George / Darryn Peterson tweet for the night - Possessions like this keep popping up every game, and it’s going to be impossible for this team to find a rhythm if they aren’t consistently making the easy reads. Keyonte NEEDS to swing this to Peterson

Was just thinking about this list by 247 from 2023 that ranked the ten best HS prospects. It’ll be years before we can safely determine an order, but the fact that the T7 are where they are, is pretty wild. Gives me some added hope for Meleek (#8) and Tre Johnson (#10).
Gonna be real awkward for the Cavs when by mid season they’re better off closing games with a Mitchell x Meleek Thomas back court > a Mitchell x Harden one

So proud of Meleek Thomas. He did not play for two games but was prepared for when his number was called!! Cleveland won in overtime and Meleek scored 16 points in an overtime win and went 4 of 5 from the three point line! Two days ago my comment to him was to continue to prepare for games like you are going to play 30 minutes. Obviously he did that tonight, proud of you Meleek!

Yaxel Lendeborg asked T-Mac, Vince, and Melo for advice on his game: “Do you guys have any advice like, just for me in general just to try to keep going, things I got to work on, anything that you guys see that I don’t see?” 👏

Shoutout to Hudson Mayes. I never got around to dropping my underrated transfer list but he was at #51. I did not see him ranked on 247 or On3 at the time and I had him ranked as the #199 overall transfer. I think we’ll see him in a power conference in 2027-28.
Dude, Hudson Mayes absolutely jumps out of the gym. Not once but twice First over an all-conference guy in Murauskas and then over a 7-footer Ridiculous hops

17 points and 10 rebounds on 75% (8-12) shooting in this game. 2 stls and 0 turnovers. Very intriguing long term prospect.

Mavs Walter Clayton Jr. 15 PTS (6-7 FG, 2-2 3P), 4 AST, 4 REB, 1 BLK, team-high +22 in 17 minutes vs. Heat Any team in the NBA could have signed him

Yea he’s 24 but you also can’t find a season in the last 5 that he didn’t make a massive jump in all around improving his game. You don’t even need the tape. Just look at his numbers year over year considering context and witness the work this guy puts in.
Warriors Rookie Yaxel Lendeborg put up his first 30 ball in just his fourth NBA game. 31 PTS, 12 REB, 6 AST, 1 BLK, 9/19 FG, 63 TS% This is NOT a Rookie man 😭

We’re really in for an all time ride for this seasons Rookie of the Year race. I have a feeling 5-6 guys will make legit cases.
Fun fact: Darius Acuff Jr. has the most shot attempts in NBA history through the first 3 games of a player’s career with 74. Game 1: 24 FGA Game 2: 26 FGA Game 3: 23 FGA He’s also the first player to attempt at least 20 shots in each of his first 3 career games.

I think it’s important to remember that all of Sarr, Ky, Bilal, Bub, Tre, have played literally zero NBA games with the goal to win at all costs. Same with Keefe but as the HC it’s hard to give him the same pass you give to guys on rookie deals. I’m hoping it’s just going to take
okay last thing, i expect there to be warts with fit and all, i expected us to not be a good shooting team or and for the perimeter defense to be weary what i did not expect was the lack of heart that’s showed up early this season from our most important players in diff spots

time. Not an excuse and obviously Bilal (JC) play hard. Even then I’d of liked Bilal to take more pride in stopping miller last night. But I do think it’s hard to flip that switch without meaningful games to work through it. We need Trae and AD to really step up as leaders.

Which is a little sketchy (as many of us acknowledged this summer) as ad has always had true leadership questions despite clear #1 talent. And Trae doesn’t exactly have a reputation for hustling his ass off and making the little plays…still these young guys gotta have more pride

These 2009 broadcasts starting to look like them 90s ones and I don’t like that one bit.

This. I immediately think of guys like shai (CP3), Brunson (Luka),Tatum (Celtics), Ant (Towns) who benefited greatly from not having to take on all the responsibility from day one. Harper, VJ, Kon all benefited last year from having help.
not a shame to be in structure early and work on your deficiencies rather than being able to do all the things you’re already good at

The biggest hurdle for DP and AJ imo is that they’re joining rosters that are overall pretty brand new. It’s not like they just slide into an already familiar group. Wizards and Jazz both have new starters, young guys, and injured guys who didn’t play together a ton last season.

Something as simple as a Trae+Sarr pick and pop with Kyshawn setting a flex screen (likely guarded by a guard) for AD on the opposite side could just get the guys within a flow of ball movement for mismatches. Sarr can be such a good passer if utilized correctly.
Would definitely like to start seeing more movement off the ball. I also think the two man game should be more of a safety valve than a go to play. Sarr screening to get Ky a 3 while Trae and AD play two man instead of everyone just standing and letting one of them shoot conteste

This immediately opens up the possibility of getting Sarr an open 3 or allowing him to go straight to a two man game DHO with Ky. Or Trae can use the ball screen, hope to find AD with a mismatch down low, or if not get another ball screen from him and play two man again

Alex Sarr becoming a legit stretch 5 is much needed for this O to thrive. Once that becomes a threat, a lot will open up. Need more attempts as well. We all kind of just assumed he’d improve at the rate he did from year 1 to 2 but a 1/8 start from 3 is rough.

If Bilal doesn’t improve then all of a sudden the floor really shrinks unless AJ can come in a solid C&S 3pt guy at the minimum. I’m not discouraged by it because I believe in him but we’re lowkey putting a lot of pressure on him. We need energy, rebounding, and efficiency.
