[Maria-n Part 1 spoilers] I’ll probably delete this if it turns out to be way off, but so far in the Maria-n Event I keep thinking about Indivilia… Physically, there are only a few similarities (blue hair highlights, blue jewel near the neck, and a pose that may or may not be intended to look similar). But, as it has been reiterated in this event, you shouldn’t expect a Heretic to have too many similarities to her original form since they sometimes start out as a screaming pile of goo. It’s Doctor Maria’s obsession with NIMPH that that really got me thinking there was some sort of relation. If not Maria herself, then maybe related to her work at least... - We know from the Commander’s discussion with Leviathan that in instances where Indivilia isn’t consuming Nikkes for the purpose of regeneration, she specifically consumes their NIMPH and nothing else [this seems to be unique to Indivilia]. - The Maria-n’s seem to be able to recover their memories perfectly after being destroyed. Even if regenerating from a single core fragment, Indivilia seems to be able to recover her memories without much issue as well; we’ve seen Indivilia do this twice now [and Indivilia’s regeneration also seems to be at a higher level than most Heretics]. - The name “Indivilia” would be perfect for a Heretic who used herself as the template for 1000+ clones. - As soon as it was revealed that Doctor Maria’s mother, Doctor Alva, was responsible for the Mechanical Messiah project and that Maria’s goal was basically to replicate the project, I started thinking about some of the lyrics to Indivilia’s theme “Absolute Maker” and Maria’s ambitions… - There’s also the fact that Indivilia can generate her own Alva particles, so I would assume that Alva particles themselves received their namesake from Maria’s mother, and thus Maria probably has some in-depth understanding of them as well. I don’t think it has been specified in the Event if Maria is human or Nikke, but I’m assuming she is still human in the Event. She would have to be either a Nikke with more free-reign than most or she may get turned into a Nikke later to keep her under control. Timeline is another issue in this theory. For Indivilia to be either a product of the Maria-n initiative or Doctor Maria herself, it would mean that the entire Maria-n project would have been going on well before and after the joint operation by Matis and Absolute to neutralize Indivilia and bring her remains to MMR. At the conclusion of Part 1 of the event, it seems that Maria herself is no longer needed for the project to continue under Enikk’s new objectives, so we would be talking thousands of Marian and No.7 clones to bring us to the start of the player story and going through the Matis-Absolute joint operation. And speaking of that joint operation: to our knowledge the Ark never conducted any similar joint operations to hunt down and neutralize an Offspring; but for some reason, Indivilia warranted such a response. So if Indivilia was a byproduct of Doctor Maria’s research or Maria herself, the operation very well could have been an asset denial type of mission considering how much knowledge Maria has...
