Poltergeist is still one of the scariest horror movies ever - it creates a Spielberg-like atmosphere and then pulls the rug out, the whimsy goes away and suddenly this demonic presence is treated very seriously. Modern movies can’t seem to replicate this formula at all.

Almost died 8 year ago today. Dude OD’d while driving and hit me while I walked, pinning me to a tree. Thankful to still be here, thankful I fought tooth and nail to reduce his jail time as much as possible and replace it with 3 years of intensive inpatient rehab. Hope he’s okay
