Belgium murdered Patrice Lumumba, dissolved his body in acid, and erased him from history. Why? Because Patrice Lumumba wanted the Congo’s wealth to belong to Congolese people. He wanted the country’s vast mineral resources to benefit its own people, not foreign powers and corporations. For daring to demand genuine independence and control over Congo’s wealth, he became yet another target of a colonial power determined to protect its interests. RIP Lumumba 🇨🇩

King Leopold II is not demonized like Hitler because his victims were Black Africans — and Black lives have never mattered to the people who built their wealth on our suffering. He killed over 20 million innocent Congolese, and oversaw a regime that amputated the hands of countless Africans. Leopold was even buried in a Catholic church. Even worse, Europe still honors this colonial monster with monuments, while his African victims are forgotten. Imagine an African leader doing this to 20 million Europeans. Would the world ever let them forget ? Western hypocrisy is absolutely disgusting.
