My community and I go together like a hand in a glove, and I hold my cultural heritage close to my heart. Thank you to @misstourismUga for helping me learn more about and celebrate my roots. Last year, we provided 200 Mama Kits to Abim General Hospital, a 100 bed referral facility. This year, our goal is 500 Mama Kits and 1,000 litres of fuel to help get expectant mothers to hospital for care and safe delivery. Thank you to every runner and sponsor helping make this possible. #AbimImpactMarathon2026 #ExploreKaramoja

At one of our post events, Tonyii and Jelimo empowered the amazing girls of Climate Skaters Kiteezi teaching them to assemble their boards, sharing skating basics and tricks, and offering lessons for life beyond the sport. In Frame 2. Mama Aminah kept the energy alive on the deck. Grateful for friendships and collaborations like these. Btw, the Tote bag in frame 3 was my gift from Goddess’s limited edition collection.
A huge thank you to everyone who made Duffled Dungeon 2026 a success. To our panelists, screen printing team, skateboard workshop facilitators, DJs, vendors and the artists who showed up for the cypher thank you for sharing your talent, energy, and time with us. To everyone who attended, participated, supported, and helped bring the day to life, we appreciate you deeply. Today, Saturday, we continue the experience at Climate Skaters Park, Kiteezi for another exciting workshop. From there, we head to Elixir @shisavillage for a taste of Kampala nightlife, before ending the day with DJ Goddess and Mama Aminah at the (Skate and Sound Collective) hosted at the Nyege Villa (Nyege Nyege Take Over) Hosting @girlskate_nrb in Kampala for their very first time has been more than a privilege for me and the entire team. We are truly grateful to have them here, and so glad they are enjoying their stay so far. The exchange, the energy, the creativity, and the connections have made this experience unforgettable. Thank you for showing up for African creativity, community, and collaboration.

Locs are often called “unprofessional” because schools and workplaces still follow narrow beauty standards shaped by Eurocentric norms. Hair can be clean and well maintained, yet judged as untidy simply because it doesn’t fit one preferred look. 1/3

That bias can pressure students and workers to change their hair and affect confidence, hiring and advancement. Clear safety and hygiene rules matter, but they should address genuine needs and apply equally. Professionalism is shown through conduct and work, 2/3

As Uganda celebrates 64 years of independence, we honour the creativity, culture and spirit that continue to shape our nation. From art that carries our stories to beauty rooted in identity, from bold innovation to the everyday ways we live, Uganda’s culture is always evolving

The Pre-Eclampsia Awareness National Stakeholders Engagement 2026 is happening now at the Office of the President’s Main Auditorium. Pregnant mothers are being screened for pre-eclampsia by Stratus Medical Supplies while Mama Tulia leads an educational session on premature babies. Pre-eclampsia ( Pressure of the Stomach) can affect any pregnant woman, so awareness and timely screening matter for women of reproductive age. Women go through so much, and it’s an honor to represent @NguvuNation at this important engagement.
