Beijing wants to silence Dr. Gyal Lo because he refuses to stay quiet about what is happening to Tibet and its children.
After speaking out about China’s state-run boarding schools and the systematic assault on Tibetan language, culture and identity, Dr. Gyal Lo is now facing what has been described as a politically motivated legal attack by China. This is not simply about one Tibetan educator. It raises serious concerns about Beijing extending its intimidation beyond its borders to target those who expose its abuses.
The CCP wants critics to believe that distance offers no protection, that speaking out comes at a price and that nobody is beyond its reach. But Tibetans in exile have every right to tell the truth without fear of threats, harassment or intimidation.
No lawsuit or intimidation campaign should silence those defending Tibetan children, language and identity. Stand with Dr. Gyal Lo. Expose transnational repression. Defend the right to speak freely.
