Thanks @CloudflareDev Clef 😅

It seems $NET @Cloudflare is Walstreets favorite today amidst the AI slaughter 😅. Happy I’m holding some, wish I had more!

I really like the new @CloudflareDev cloudflare.config.ts, especially compared to wrangler.xxxx. The new cf cli has been working fine up till now.

The WCAG rule most design systems fail without noticing: 1.4.11 Non-text Contrast (AA). Text gets checked for contrast. The *edges of controls* usually don't. Anything you need to see to find or use a control needs 3:1 against what's next to it: • input and checkbox borders • focus indicators • icon-only buttons • the selected state of a toggle or tab The classic miss: a `#ccc` input border on white. That's about 1.6:1. The lightest grey that clears 3:1 on white is around `#949494`. Disabled controls are exempt. Is your default input border above 3:1?

Sol 6.1 codex in @WebStormIDE is a real sweetspot. Much more efficient than claude + fable. No BS, no long wooly explanations anymore, just super solid and really low token use.

I’m planning to build a pretty complex app with @CloudflareDev durable objects, cron workers, sockets, D1, AI, Clef and R2. But the lack of hard budget controls in CF is holding me back… I don’t want a mistake or an oversight to bankrupt me 🤷. Are hard limits coming soon?

Dutch Government: > Hold a Bitcoin ETF = Capital gains tax > Hold Bitcoin on an exchange = Paper gains tax This is what they came up with after months of deliberation and a lot of pushback on taxing paper gains on stocks and crypto. The idea is that “financial instruments” under MiFID are now taxed based on capital gains (instead of paper gains, as in the initial proposal). Crypto is not a financial instrument under MiFID, so it’s taxed based on paper gains. After 2030, it will be moved into the capital gains category. But crypto is not a financial instrument under MiFID because it has its own regulation: MiCA. This part is so unbelievably stupid I can’t wrap my head around it. We got dedicated crypto regulation in the form of MiCA. We got DAC8 implemented for crypto exchanges, which requires exchanges to collect customer data and share it with the tax authority. In many ways, the Dutch crypto sector is better prepared for the new tax system than legacy banks. Many of these companies worked their asses off to comply with these regulations. Is this how you reward them? And I haven’t even started on the unintended effects for ordinary citizens. People will sell their crypto on exchanges, send the money to their broker, and buy a BlackRock Bitcoin ETF. It's literally a couple of clicks on your computer to go from paper gains to capital gains tax. What. The. Hell. This idea has so many loopholes and so many unwanted first-, second-, and third-order effects. It's a clear example of path dependency and the sunk cost fallacy. The government went down this road and apparently can't do what's best: scrap the current plan and start over. I hope they surprise me and fix this mess.

open source is core to so much cloudflare does today is the first day of @cloudflare birthday week, so here are a bunch of big updates to open source projects we maintain + some new ones: 1. we introduced forge — a new, free, OSS pipeline for auto generating SDKs, CLIs, docs, and libraries 2. cf cli — forge is in production and cloudflare is the first customer! our CLI now supports so much more than just workers 3. vinext 1.0 — what started out as a slopfork is now powering many organizations' production next.js apps 4. emdash 1.0 — the open source CMS that runs our blog (that we operate our network for) 5. 4 months of voidzero, speeding up the dev (and agent) toolchain — oxc compiles react.js 10x faster, vitest 5 is up to 50% faster, tsgolint is now stable (and up to 18x faster than eslint) and more!! 6. experimental preview of native rust in cloudflare workers! 7. big update to kitesurf — our open source agentic browser that runs on workers. webmcp and all 8. BEACON — open dataset of web performance data for you and your agents to go play with and explore forever blown away for how much cloudflare can ship in one day? as if we didn't ship a bunch of major announcements last week and have a whole week ahead still...

Very cool! I hope cf will replace wrangler as I always seem to mistype that (and it’s shorter) 😂

Cloudflare is working on K2, a durable event-stream primitive. It's a named, append-style log of "records" you produce to and consume from, with a configurable retention window, writable from a Worker binding or over HTTP. Basically Cloudflare Kafka.

Cool, Jev @typesafeai running in a @CloudflareDev Worker AI Binding with AI Gateway and BYOK. Let the experiments commence!

@IBKR_Europe - I'm planning to build a trading bot (based on a very successful crypto bot already live) - but why do you guys use such a non-standard, home cooked way of doing auth? Seems pretty impossible to implement in a CF Worker, the way that monstrosity works?

I had my agent analyse that auth flow and it literally responded that it is “completely retarded and as good as unusable” 😂

This is a great conversation! So many good insights.
New podcast episode with @dillon_mulroy. We talked about how he works now, and about what that has done to him.
