One thing that deeply baffles me is, if these people who want to tell writers that we are wrong or bad for wanting fandom to interact with us on AO3, realize that every word they say is a strong argument for never posting fic, or at least not posting it on AO3 1/

THIS!
If you are a fan of something - regardless of what it is or who made it - if you stay silent, all anyone sees are the people who loudly complain, hence Toxic Fandom Syndrome.
You also won't make friends within the fandom if you don't try to be friendly.

Disclaimer first, I -ADORE- my readers. But if AO3 got rid of comments I would completely stop writing fic. I might as well only focus on my private works, if both of them net me zero feedback or community; I write fic to talk to people, but it’s not the only thing I write.

EVERYONE NEEDS TO KNOW THAT THE REPUBLICANS DESIGNED THEIR HEALTHCARE CUTS TO TAKE AFFECT STARTING IN 2027 BECAUSE THEY WANTED TO CREATE A PROBLEM TO BLAME DEMOCRATS FOR! THEY KNEW THEY WOULD LOSE, SO THEY MADE YOUR LIFE MORE EXPENSIVE TO GIVE THEMSELVES A TALKING POINT!

It’s a really good time to call your local representatives and tell them how you want Congress to fight back to repeal the bill or mitigate it.
Voting is a part of political advocacy—making sure you’re heard and having them fight FOR the people is as, if not, more important.
Friendly reminder: The Big Beautiful Bill was written, passed, and signed by REPUBLICANS! 218 Republican votes in the House, 50 in the Senate, with JD Vance breaking the tie! NOT ONE Democrat voted for it!
Trump signed it into law July 4, 2025! So when the consequences hit…DON’T blame Democrats! Good day!

Justin Briner was right to say that idc, it was three words to people who usually say and support far FAR worse rhetoric towards minorities

Justin Briner is considered one of the nicest VAs around. For him to even say that, you KNOW he's tired of the bullshit. I'm not saying he should've said it, but I'm not gonna condemn him as a person for it, especially considering there have been much worse said on this app.

🚨AO3 Status Update🚨
Everybody say ‘thank you for all your hard work, ao3’
While #AO3 remains down, we wanted to share that work to restore AO3 and make changes to prevent future incidents is ongoing and proceeding well. We believe that our original return time estimate remains accurate. Learn more at otwstatus.org/incidents/g12j…
I've realized that most of you weren't raised to think saying "thank you" to someone who made fanworks is normal. And that's embarrassing.
It's not required, but what IS required is being active if you want to be part of the fandom. Silence doesn't build fandom community.

Important Reminder: Just because we'll have a Democratic majority in January does not mean everything will suddenly be fixed. Call and write your current and future representatives and let them know what you'd like to see done now, and in 2027.
58 days to the next term.
