As Secretary-General of the @eu_eeas, my role is to support HR/VP @kajakallas and turn EU priorities into action. The EEAS must be part of the solution to make sure that EU foreign policy delivers better results.
So let’s get to work and stay in touch!
"In an uncertain world, the EU and Viet Nam are proving that reliable and predictable partnerships matter. In spite of our geographical distance, we share the same vision to defend multilateralism and uphold the international rules-based order. " 🇻🇳🇪🇺
@EUDelegationVN @JGuerrier_EU
It was my pleasure to welcome President of Viet Nam, Tô Lâm, to Brussels.
President Tô Lâm’s visit today follows my visit to Hanoi in January of this year, when we elevated the relationship between the EU and Viet Nam to a “Comprehensive Strategic Partnership”.
In an uncertain world, the EU and Viet Nam are proving that reliable and predictable partnerships matter.
In spite of our geographical distance, we share the same vision to defend multilateralism and uphold the international rules-based order.
We are now focused on developing our partnership further and investing in each other’s future: on green transition, critical raw materials, technology and innovation, strategic infrastructure and other sectors.
While HR/VP @kajakallas takes a clear stand on Houthi strikes targeting civilians & civilian infrastructure in Yemen and Saudi Arabia as well as against shipping in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, our thanks go out to @EUNAVFORASPIDES and to our delegation teams across the entire region for carrying the European flag under very challenging circumstances.
@EUinYemen @UEaDjibouti @EUintheGCC
The Houthis use textbook terror tactics against civilians in Yemen and Saudi Arabia to sow fear in the region.
In the Red Sea, operation Aspides plays a crucial role in protecting shipping against Houthi threats.
Aspides has escorted hundreds of vessels to safety and its role is now more visible and in demand.

@mofalebanon1 @EUinLebanon
Following last week's FAC & EUCO, I continued my 'Tour des Capitales', this time at the heart of Europe in 🇦🇹🇸🇰🇭🇺. While discussing urgent European affairs, I noted calls for strong coordination of EU foreign policy and appreciation expressed for our EU delegation network.
Many thanks to you and to your team at the @MFAHungary for such a warm welcome and the good exchange on key foreign policy files. Very soon you will mark the 70th anniversary of the 1956 Revolution fighting for freedom & democracy - values that we all cherish in Europe today.
@HungaryintheEU @EC_Budapest
Thank you, dear @KajsaOllongren, @EEAS_SecGen for visiting Budapest and for our constructive exchange.
I look forward to maintaining a direct and pragmatic dialogue as we work together on the security and foreign policy challenges facing Europe.
Stronger EU external action draws on the support of all Member States. Thank you, @MarekEstok_SK, for the warm welcome and the very good exchange in Bratislava.
@SlovakiaMFA
🇸🇰🇪🇺 Good discussion with @EEAS_SecGen Kaja Ollongren on stronger Slovak representation in EU diplomacy, energy security and practical support for Ukraine.
Slovak diplomats have a lot to offer, including at senior levels. We also need concrete action on high energy prices and competitiveness, while continuing targeted support for Ukraine ahead of winter.
Two days of #EUCO have shown again how much internal & external policies are intertwined: on macroeconomic imbalances, as well as on enlargement, MFF, the Middle East and migration. HR/VP @kajakallas underlined why we need to help Ukrainians defend their country

The #EUCO meeting has started!
Welcoming @EP_President Roberta Metsola to take stock of progress on our “One Europe, One Market” agenda.
We are turning commitments into action. We need to maintain our ambition and move faster.
To deliver more jobs, stronger businesses and better lives for Europeans.
With some interlocutors, it is impossible to agree more. Thank you, Vice-FM Funakoshi, for our enriching exchange. Shared values are our foundation and translate into practical cooperation - from maritime security to strengthening our resilience and that of our partners. 🇯🇵🇪🇺
Today's Foreign Affairs Council is over - which also happened to be my first FAC in my new capacity. 🇪🇺

Grateful to our @GCCSG colleagues for hosting our delegation for the 3rd EU-GCC Regional Security Dialogue in Riyadh, ahead of the Leaders Summit later this month. Fruitful exchanges on issues pertaining to our interconnected security and the ways to strengthen our cooperation.
Fourty years after joining the #EU, Spain is one of the key players in Team Europe. 🇪🇺 In Madrid on my tour of EU capitals, we spoke on European security, Ukraine, freedom of navigation & our southern neighbourhood. ¡Muchas gracias y vamos, Europa!

The 7 October attacks were a barbaric act of terror. Today, we stand with Israel in remembering every life taken and destroyed at the hands of the Hamas terrorists.
Our thoughts are with the victims, the survivors, their families and all those who continue to carry the pain of that terrible day.
We must firmly reject any form of antisemitism across Europe. Jewish communities must be able to live openly, safely and without fear.
Hamas brought unspeakable suffering to the Israeli people and left devastation in its wake. Hamas must disarm so that the Gaza Peace Plan to move forward.
We stand in full solidarity with our Member States on the Eastern flank. Black Sea security is one of the many security issues on the agenda of my Tour des Capitales.
The situation in the Black Sea is increasingly concerning.
Commercial ships – and innocent crews – are being targeted, with lives already lost at sea.
Today, two commercial vessels were hit in Bulgaria’s economic zone in Black Sea.
This comes just one day after a Turkish ship carrying Ukrainian grain was struck and sunk off the Romanian coast.
While exact circumstances of these incidents are still being established, the developments are very concerning.
Attacks on civilian shipping are unacceptable.
We stand in full solidarity with our Member States on the Eastern flank.
The EU's relations with the Republic of Moldova have never been closer. 🇪🇺🇲🇩
