I agree with Karan May (@karanagogo) that there should be no major asset transfers by MP/PE until the results of the audit have been issued and the public has had a chance to review them.

I sit on the PSC's Affordability & Reliability Task Force described below. The good news is that affordability and reliability can be accomplished on our side of the electric meter, regardless of what happens on the utility's side. The PSC should encourage that.

This is huge for the state, especially as we see continued electric rate increases and the potential for more in the future. If anyone is interested in help getting weatherized, EEWV is happy to help navigate the process.
I have approved over $3.3 million in Weatherization Assistance Program grant funding for 12 agencies across the state working to reduce energy costs for low-income families by improving the energy efficiency of their homes.

At the PSC for the 5:30pm public hearing in Charleston. They're getting started. The public hearing is about the latest $18/month proposed rate increase. We are holding a public meeting tomorrow at the @KanawhaLibrary at 6pm about ways to reduce costs in spite of increased rates.

Pretty glaring omissions here in a presentation on electric prices. Someone representing utilities and someone representing large energy users/industrials, but no one representing consumers/residents, much less demand-side alternatives or small businesses.

EEWV has been very pleased with how the Commission recently went out of its way to benefit ratepayers through increased funding for low-income energy efficiency programs for AEP’s West Virginia customers. But we see this decision as a missed opportunity.
Two FirstEnergy rate hike requests - one approved this past week by West Virginia utility regulators - suggest ratepayer reliance on coal-fired electricity and responsibility for an uneconomic supply deal could persist well into the next decade: wvgazettemail.com/news/state…
