Oh yeah, that time again, Box Office BIGSHOTS! Can you correctly pick the TOP 10 WORLDWIDE highest-grossing Hollywood films of the summer? If so, you'll be 2026’s B.O.B.—Box Office Bigshot. Fame. Fortune. Influence. Illusions of Grandeur. Will all be yours. To qualify, picks must be posted by Thursday, April 30th, 2026 @ 11:59pm PT. THE RULES: 5 points for every correct film in the domestic Top 10, regardless of placement. Then, an additional 10 points for #1, 9 points for #2, 8 points for #3…1 point for #10, etc. if you correctly guess the exact placement of any of the Top 10 highest-grossing films. MORE RULES: Totals are from films released domestically from the 1st weekend of May through Labor Day weekend. Grosses don't stop on Labor Day, though, as films keep tabulating until they leave theaters. So, winner will likely be announced in the fall. EVEN MORE RULES: Drop your Top 10 picks on the timeline before midnight on and be sure to include a tie-breaker, which is the dollar amount the #1 film will wind up with globally. You don’t need dollar amounts on the rest of the films, only your #1 pick. So list your picks like this: 1. RODNEY'S RAD ADVENTURE II: MONKEY BIZ ($1.526B) 2. UNTITLED SEQUEL 3. UNTITLED THREEQUEL And so on… Will there be a prize? I mean, maybe. Probably. But isn’t being the BOX OFFICE BIGSHOT enough? Trust me, it is. All your dreams will be fulfilled.

If you want to get things moving in the right direction, take a date to WICKER this week. It's everything it was advertised to be: wicked, naughty fun. Not for the whole family, mind you. Specifically, for you and your date.

DC's CLAYFACE opened to $24M domestic & $46M worldwide on a $44M budget. That's not awful. Will need to stick around awhile to see a cut of the profits. Thing is, WB isn’t mining one of the world’s biggest IP libraries simply to break even. It wants a piece of the pop-culture pie. OTHER MOMMY, also R-rated original with zero built-in IP, opened higher: $27M domestic & now $95M worldwide, on a $19M budget. And it did that with a D+ CinemaScore. CLAYFACE may eventually turn a box office profit. But that still doesn’t mean choosing it as the DCU’s third feature was the right move. Cost containment is not cultural momentum. And that's what WB thought it was getting hiring James Gunn.

Looks like WB picked the wrong movie to write-off. DIGGER is winding up its domestic box office with $18M. Meanwhile, COYOTE VS ACME topped $60M. Beep. Beep.

KLARA AND THE SUN...set. Sony's once *hot* project dwindled down to a moderate wide opening in just 880 venues this weekend, and barely made contact with $701k. Luckily the budget was only $20M, but still... egads.

Laika's WILDWOOD surprised with $11M this weekend, unfortunately for everyone involved... the budget was $100M. Luckily billionaire Nike founder Phil Knight can afford such write-off luxuries.

The budget isn’t really a point worth defending in regards to CLAYFACE. Listen, even MORBIUS debuted with $39M. CLAYFACE, which is drawn from one of the biggest IP brands in the world, dropped with $15M less than Sony's horror spinoff. A lower budget may limit the financial damage, but in no way does it create audience demand. And that's the point. Choosing CLAYFACE as the DCU’s third film was the misstep. Oh, and making 3 out of 4 set in the SUPERMAN universe. Yes, the DC brand is in trouble. What's new?

Clay didn't slay. WB's CLAYFACE is the #1 movie in North America w/ a debut of $24M, but the DC brand itself is in a freefall. You know what really sucks: even MORBIUS opened with $39M.
