EV buyers: $5,000+ panel upgrades? Most don't.
ChargeRight: NEC 220 panel capacity pre-assessment for existing homes adding a charger, usually 220.83(A), $49.99 one-time. Plain-English verdict + PDF. Not a permit; not Tesla/NFPA affiliated.

Hold your phone up to the wall and BendRight's AR camera shows the bend shape against the real surface, so you catch a clearance problem before you touch the pipe. Offsets, saddles, kicks, rolling offsets and more. Works offline. $6.99, no ads. apps.apple.com/us/app/bendri…
Every bender's a little different. BendRight has you bend one stub with YOUR bender, then it sets the take-up and math to match it. Big hi-vis multiplier mark, centerline numbers, works offline. $6.99 once, no ads, no subscription. apps.apple.com/us/app/bendri…
What's your panel size? 100, 150 or 200 amps? And did anyone quote you an upgrade to add an EV charger? Reply with both. I'm an electrician. I'll tell you whether the math usually backs that up.
True. And most people don't need a 48 A charger to wake up full. A 24–32 A circuit covers a normal commute overnight. Smaller circuit, easier fit on the panel, sometimes no upgrade at all. Size it to how you drive, not the max on the box.
People really think owning a Tesla means sitting at Superchargers all day 😂
If you can charge at home, most days you just plug in when you get home and wake up ready to go.
Road trips are a different story, but daily driving is a lot easier than people make it sound.
Home charging is honestly one of the biggest perks of owning an EV.
Backup is great. Just know what it's covering. A battery or generator still has to fit the panel math, same as an EV charger. Before anyone adds a big load to your house, ask for the NEC 220 load calc in amps. One number settles a lot of arguments.
Did your EV charger quote come with a new panel?
Before you sign, ask one question: what does the NEC Article 220 load calculation say, in amps?
A panel upgrade should come from that number. Reply with what you were told.
Out of breaker spaces for an EV charger? Ask before you pay for a new panel.
This homeowner was billed $2,800 to swap a 200 amp panel for another 200 amp panel. It's still 200 amps.
Is your panel listed for tandem breakers? Would a subpanel work? What does the load calc say?

If somehow i win i will wrap this jn the @EV_ChargeRight logo
Not sure for the Calculation for the battery draw when you use the “boosters”? But if there is math behind it we will get it in there.
Replying to @elonmusk
@elonmusk, @Tesla whenever you get a chance can you send over the specs on the new roadster. I wanna get it plugged in to EVchargeright.com. Thanks.
Let’s keep the cars soaring and not the price of charger installs.

Almost all cars will be electric. Almost no home panels were sized for it. Before you buy the charger, know if your panel can take it: NEC Article 220 load calc (usually 220.83(A)), plain-English verdict + PDF, $49.99. evchargeright.com
Rolling out take-home EVs? Each driver's home panel is different. ChargeRight runs the NEC 220 load calc, usually 220.83(A), for $49.99 per home, with a plain-English verdict + PDF. evchargeright.com
Got an EV charger quote that says you need a new panel first? Before you pay for it, find out if anybody actually ran the load calc on your house. That's the NEC Article 220 math, and it's what I built ChargeRight to do.
Same 150A panel. Three electricians.
Honest one, NEC 220.83(A): 115A, fits.
Didn't know the math, no demand factor: 167A, "new service."
The upsell, Standard Method on purpose: 160A, "upgrade."
Know before you pay. evchargeright.com

In March I replied to Mark Cuban's chart of new businesses and said I was one of them. He reposted it, and @Benzinga wrote it up.
Still a union electrician. Still building ChargeRight after work. Now it sizes your EV charger to how far you drive.
Anyone else grinding after a day in the trades??

Fleet vans are all the same. Your drivers' homes aren't.
100A panel in one house. 200A in the next. Same EV, different answer.
Before take-home EVs roll out, run each driver's home through an NEC 220 load calc. Check upgrade quotes before reimbursing.

Union electrician. Never wrote a line of code until this year.
Built a tool at night after work that lets homeowners check if their panel can handle an EV charger before anybody quotes them a panel upgrade.
Just passed a thousand dollars in sales. Not life changing money. But it's real people paying for something I built with no background in it.
If you've got an EV coming and a quote with a panel upgrade in it, ask me anything. I'll answer every one. Also 965$ was at the 12.99 price tag.
