Our seniors did a tremendous job this morning on their senior talks. They reflected on items like their respective basketball journey, their experience as an EV basketball player, and their hopes and dreams for the upcoming season. (Thread)
Senior Branden Catelli has earned our OKG for the week. Branden is a straight A student who is a model of positivity and dependability for our younger guys. We are thankful for his dedication. @BCatelli2134 @EastViewHS
Proud of our 24 JV/Varsity guys, all of whom made the grades in the first nine weeks. Special kudos to the group pictured here who earned all A’s!!!
Seniors Van Robertson, De Marco Wingwood Jr. and Branden Catelli.
All three accomplished this feat last year too. #Consistency
Great work by freshmen Loha Senthil Kumar and Maaz Sajid who both made All A’s in the first nine weeks!
@EastViewHS
Excited to announce our captains for the 2026-27 season are seniors De Marco Wingwood Jr., Cayden Hinderman-Close, and Van Robertson. Let’s Go Pats!!!

Our OKG for this week is sophomore Chris Pina. Chris’s reliability and maturity have stood out this offseason. Good work, Chris!
Work hard, play hard. Our guys got after it during conditioning this morning, so we ended with some friendly competition before Fall Break.
Team Toups 2-1, Team Purcell 2-1, Team Perryman 0-2 (better luck next time).
Let’s Go Pats!!!
Senior guard Cayden Hinderman-Close is our OKG for this week. Cayden is a
4-year varsity player who has earned the respect of his teammates for how hard he works on his game. He is also an outstanding student. We are proud of you, @chindermanclose. Keep it up!
Huge thank you to Coach Streich and the Southwestern University basketball staff for allowing us in to watch practice! Best of luck to our neighbors, The Pirates, as they compete in 26-27. @matt_streich @MrCoachCline_
Huge thank you to Coach Bonewitz and the Concordia basketball program for allowing us in to watch practice. Awesome to see former Patriot, Terrion Benson, preparing for the season. Good luck to the Tornados! @StanBonewitz @tstar_baller @MrCoachCline_
Huge thank you to Coach Schaefer and his staff for allowing us in to see the Longhorns practice. Hook’em! @CoachVic_UT @MrCoachCline_
Senior Van Robertson was recognized at last week’s GISD board meeting as a Jack Frost Citizen of the Month. The award goes to outstanding high school seniors who show excellence in service, leadership and scholarship. (Thread)
Van is pictured with board members, Mr. James Sherer and Dr. Laura Kinchloe, his parents Rachael and Chris, and Head Basketball Coach, Michael Toups, who Van chose as an adult who has had a positive influence on him at EV.
For this district-wide recognition and for what he does daily, Van is also our first two-time OKG. We are proud of you for all you do for our basketball program and within the larger community, Van!
