Cool new work by @SeanColgan16 group showing how engineered E.coli can act as a Ph-sensing indicator of gut #inflammation. They track active inflammation with #mucosal acidosis in #IBD @PNASNews @socmucimm
CU School of Medicine researchers Sean Colgan, PhD, professor of medicine, and Ian Cartwright, PhD, a postdoctoral fellow, used an organism created by @RiceUniversity bioengineers in a mouse model to show acidosis activates a signature set of genes.
