Varied day's jazz as part of @HarwichFestival, curated by Simon Ashley. It wasn't only the sun that was scorching hot! Impressive stuff from Charlie Wood, Chris Allard and Brandon Allen, Raz, and finally, Ben Crosland Quintet with Ray Davies Songbook Vol II
@stefanostrings Outstanding concert on Wednesday @HeadgateTheatre by Stefanos Tsourelis Trio, whose music, while difficult to pigeonhole, was totally absorbing. World Fusion? Greek Jazz Fusion? No matter - superb! Three excellent improvisers all.
This was followed last night by another excellent trio of improvisers performing a veritable musical mash-up @HarwichFestival - Preston Glasgow Lowe (@PGLmusic).
The first jazz session takes place tomorrow night at Coda, a new music venue in Colchester High Street. JT4tet features the outstanding pianist/composer Tim Richards, who has graced the jazz club's stage several times in the past.

You know the token jazz nominee never gets it...but maybe this year it's worth a punt at the bookies with my pocket money? xitter.gq/MercuryPrize/status/10…

A few more shots from Tristan's cracking concert featuring Evelyn Kallansee on Sunday. #feelthevibe #funk #fusion #soul #nujazz
Brill performance from @Tristan last night. Great energy and vibe.
Next up on August 5th: Vinyl Sessions: Dave Brubeck's Time Out, 12-3, then Talinka, featuring Tali Atzmon, Gilad Atzmon, Yaron Stavi and Jenny Bliss.
I'll wing 'em over via email Alex. Didn't realise the thread from Facebook to Twitter didn't attach the images! People were still talking about the performance at last week's Joy Ellis concert . . . xitter.gq/abhitchcock/status/100…
Only 3 half decent images of Alex Hitchcock Music's stupendously talented quintet in action at Colchester Arts Centre Jazz Club at Colchester Arts Centre on May 6th
An excellent evening's music last night from the Joy Ellis Quartet. Yet another fine group of talented young musicians in Joy Ellis Music, Chris Montague, Henrik Jensen and Adam Osmianski. Always... facebook.com/ColchesterArtsC…
