Since September is Suno and Spotify's great "expose and segregate AI personas" month, let me give some disclosure to who I am. (This is not an explanation to the record industry, this is to the listeners and fellow hybrid AI artists). So here is my tag: I am Luis Vill Cruz. I am a husband, father, and I manage multiple properties for low-income housing. I made my mistakes in life, paid my debt to society for it, and eventually changed my life and became the man that I am today. I'm also a lifelong songwriter, performer, and creator. I have been writing and making music since I was a teenager. I made music before artificial intelligence was part of my process. I lived through experiences that influence the subjects I write about. I experienced loss and hardships that caused me to leave music for years. I eventually returned to music and created TruVillain. TruVillain is my persona. The stories are not all literal autobiography. Some are based on life. Some are inspired by life. Some are fictional. Some are mythology. Some are exaggerated. Some are completely invented. Some songs are created off of actual events. But they are all stories I chose to tell. AI helps me create the recordings. It does not replace the person who conceived them. It does not erase the life of the person writing them. It does not make every story automatically false. And it does not mean the character has to be a literal representation of the man behind him. Luis Vill Cruz is real. The experiences that shaped him are real. The writing is mine. The music is created through a human-directed AI-assisted process. TruVillain is the persona. And TruVillain allows me to tell stories through music again. Because that’s what artists have always done. I didn’t use AI to pretend I was somebody I wasn’t. I created TruVillain to tell my story as I did with Villain when I was recording in a studio before AI Music existed. That is the disclosure. That is the difference between the man and the myth. And that is TruVillain. Tag me as an AI persona who shouldn't be in the same room as the traditional artist with their "human personas", but you won't ever strip me of my humanity. I will keep making AI-assisted music not because I have to but because I want to. AI has proven to me that it's an incredible tool that allows someone of my still "somewhat young but getting there" age to return as a musician and express the creative thoughts that have been trapped in my mind for the last several years. I'm not here to lie to you or trick you. TruVillain is a persona, but Luis Vill Cruz is a real person. Finally f🖕🏼ck the music industry for demonizing us while championing the current artists who are some of the fakest and trash musicians in the history of music. Today's music is nothing like the music of the 80's, 90's, and 00's....the industry as a whole is a mere shell of what it used to be. Trust me they need AI more than they realize ... or maybe they do realize it and that is why they are pushing us out , to make room for their handpicked artists to use "controlled" AI.. ...know that my pen is just warming up, and at only 7 months into the AI music world, I'm just starting..
