Take-home: lots of lessons learned from water quantity forecasting that can advance water quality forecasting. Current systems are doing fairly well (we can 4cast water temp, oxygen, and algae up to 5 d ahead with reasonable accuracy) but LOTS more work to be done! 2/2
Iterative forecasting cycle, which includes engaging end users, coordinating teams, developing models/workflows, obtaining data, quantifying uncertainty, assimilating data, generating forecasts, disseminating forecasts, and assessing forecasts (then rinse & repeat!)
