Happy 145th birthday, Ludwig von Mises! There will only ever be one Mises, but with your support, we can create new generations of Misesians. Give $5+ to our Fall Campaign and receive Rothbard's War, Peace, and the State.

A fix @RyanMcMaken floats: if more than 10% of your revenue comes from government, your records go open to the public—like any state agency. Flock, Dominion, the whole contractor world: open books. You're not really private anyway. @ThoBishop @ConnorOKeeffe
The Anti-Flock Revolution
Ryan, Connor, and Tho talk about the growing populist backlash to Flock cameras and the AI-powered security state. Are these simple private companies a simple extension of federal surveillance?

My car got hit.
Actually this has all been my last two months 😂 if we include the full year I can throw in breaking a wrist and endometriosis surgery too.
God is putting me through the wringer, but hopefully there is something good waiting for me after it all. Just going to rewatch lord of the rings (extend edition of course) and try not to feel sorry for myself. I mean it could be worse, I could be taking a ring to Mordor right now.

Government solutions are top-down, expensive, and produce secondary effects worse than the original problem. Market solutions are bottom-up, constrained by profit, and tested through small-scale experimentation. The story of kudzu illustrates both. @DrMarkThornton #MinorIssues
The Vine That Ate the South: Government Solutions vs. Market Solutions
FDR’s Soil Conservation Service paid farmers to blanket millions of acres with it—to fix dust bowl conditions that earlier government policies had helped create. Kudzu became an environmental menace.
