How do I get to Cradle Mountain? 🏔️ One of the most common questions we get. There is no regular public bus service to Cradle Mountain, so you'll need to travel with a tour or a dedicated transport operator. Services are available from Launceston, Devonport and Hobart, making it easy to reach one of Tasmania's most spectacular national parks without hiring a car. The most trusted is eGuide who have for many years been operating cradle mountain transfers. #CradleMountain #Tasmania #VisitTasmania #TravelTips #OverlandTrack

Overland Track Permits Open – 9:00am, Monday 7 July If you're planning to walk the Overland Track during the 2026–27 season, permits become available from 9:00am on Monday 7 July. Demand is always high, so it's a good idea to be online before 9:00am. A virtual waiting room will be used to make the booking process as fair as possible. Once you've secured your permit, it's time to organise your transport to and from the track. To help walkers plan ahead, eGuide's Overland Track Shuttle is offering reduced July booking rates, free 230g gas canisters, and Book Now, Pay Later—so you can reserve your transport without making a payment at the time of booking. Good luck with your permit application, and we hope you enjoy one of Australia's greatest walks! overlandtrackshuttle.com.au/

"Can I visit Tasmania without hiring a car?" The answer is yes—but only if you plan carefully. Some places are easy by shuttle or coach. Others are almost impossible without private transport. Knowing the difference can save hundreds of dollars and a lot of frustration. Lots of great information here: Tasmaniawithoutacar.com #Tasmania #TravelPlanning #Australia #TravelTips
