I have a hunch about Midnight PartnerChain! What we know so far is that it will: • be a separate blockchain • have it's own consensus • be run by Cardano SPOs I believe staking rewards of Midnight will be settled on Cardano blockchain! Charles already said that delegators who delegate to SPOs which are running Midnight Network will get ADA + DUST It kinda makes sense that it will be settled on Cardano. What do you think? Would you agree with this, and is it possible that this is the connection between #Cardano and Midnight?

Remember how everyone said that Ethereum is programmable money? Midnight is programmable privacy! Smart contracts on Midnight can shield the data that organizations and individuals need to protect. Midnight’s technology can help developers balance the global transparency of public ledgers with the protection of sensitive data. What does that mean? It means that we can have sensitive information (like salaries or medical records) programmed private, while we can have our proof public. Very useful, right?

Midnight Network will use ZK technology which allows one party to prove to another that a certain statement or claim is true without revealing all the evidence for the proof of that statement. We wrote about the simplest example in the previous post, but what are some more interesting examples of Zero Knowledge Proofs? ZKPs can be used to make statements such as: • A company is not on a sanctions list • A customer is over 28 years of age • A customer has purchased over €1m of product in the past year. All of this can be achieved without the need to reveal other information. Give me more interesting examples please!

Midnight technology allows DApps to: • validate user data without sharing it • protect users identities • ensure integrity – the assurance that data has not been tampered with That sounds great, and I am sure each of us want that, but what is the tech behind it? The technology Midnight uses is called zero-knowledge and it allows one party to prove to another that a certain statement or claim is true without revealing all the evidence for the proof of that statement. But how can that be? My favorite example is a number locked in a safe: Let's say that there is a piece of paper with 64 characters written on it "3885cb5e892e81a8ed83d7870eb106c011e4af4380c7da276ce9f097e9e7afab" That is the last block minted by ELEMENTAL stake pool. And I claim that I know the number. How to prove that I know the number without: • revealing the number • opening the safe I could prove to you by responding to your questions. If you would ask me: - What is the first character, and I say "3" - What is the fifteenth character, and I say "a" - What is the second to last character, and I say "a" -... At some point after responding correctly you would start to believe me enough, I would given enough proof that I know the number. There is no way I could guess 13 characters in a row. And that is Zero-Knowledge proof, on which ZK Technology is built upon. What do you think of this simple example? Do you have your favorite one?
